If I was Travis I’d be very nervous after seeing what’s gone down with in certain parts of the fandom and how Taylor has acted since the Joe split.

I can see this happening so easily 🥴 although after that much time you'd hope it would be 'let bygones be bygones' but that runs kinda counterintuitive to the other conversation here
 
I don't understand the need she has for her partner to be praising her publicly. The only equivalent for non-famous people I can think of is couples who are OTT about each other on social media. Me and my partner are not like that at all and I don't mind, I feel happy and secure and that's what matters more for me.

I can imagine she wants something like Blake and Ryan - they do speak about eachother but are still private. For example Blake did a speech about Ryan at an award show (I think? I saw it on TikTok not sure what it was for) and they hosted the Met Gala together. I'm not a huge fan of them but it feels more authentic and genuine to me compared to what Taylor is doing at the moment. But I imagine they have a lot less pressure as they aren't as famous/have as dedicted fan base who disect every movement as Taylor does.

I agree and I think it'll be her that will get deeply hurt. Travis has got player written all over him and well into this attention. He sees a woman who is so desperate for validation and has this little fairytale in her head about dating the cool guy in school. He'll feed into that. Seemingly be what she wants in the fairytale when he could be a massive knob but she's so blinkered by dating a 'real' man 😂

100%. I have a family member like that. Constantly declaring love for each other on social media. They are usually sat in the same room when they do it! It’s so performative.

Taylor and Travis are the famous version of that.
 
I was thinking today, I don’t know any other celebrities publicist. I know who their stylists are or hairdresser or maybe favourite photographer but not their publicist. I think that kind of says a lot.

She makes it extremely clear that she’s micromanaged PR wise and her die hard fans STILL think she’s genuine and relatable. It’s wild.

I can’t remember now if I read it here or Reddit but someone (who sort of worked within the entertainment industry I think) was basically saying that you’re *not meant* to know a celebrity’s publicist and they detailed why this actually makes Tree a really bad one. I hadn’t thought about it previously but it actually makes so much sense.

Taylor would never change up her team now though, and in some ways I understand that. She’s had a majorly successful career for 17 years so it probably doesn’t even cross her mind to but I do get the impression that they always have to be on her side/in agreement with her and are very much “yes” people, especially since leaving Scott Borchetta.
 
I agree with all the previous comments on here about Taylor and Travis starting to feel icky.

I actually think Taylor has really low self esteem despite being such a huge star and she doesn’t really know who she is, that’s why she seeks validation by jumping between relationships. Like she came out of a four year relationship and within months dove into a fling with Matty and then a full-blown relationship with Travis. Why is she so scared of being on her own? I came out of a four year relationship last year and I‘m only just starting to feel ready to date again. You’ve gotta fully get over a breakup physically, emotionally and mentally before you can properly move on imo.

I would personally love a 3-5 year stretch of single Taylor not dating anyone as I would love to see the music she could make in that time. Part of me does wonder if the constant search for lovers comes from a fear of not having anything to write about if she’s alone 🤷‍♀️

As if she thinks she will lose this frenzy of the fans without these pap walks and changing her hair and living these different "eras" of her albums in real life.

She keeps window-dressing these releases with her real life, when the music is more than enough. We listen for the songs, not the people behind them. At least I do, I don't know about anyone else.

BIB, I can't stop thinking about this, what a great theory. I think it could well be true. I actually wish I could tell her that her personal life is actually pretty tiresome to a lot of us adult fans, and I'm sure the general public. I wasn't here for it but she was lying low for folklore and evermore, no? Out of necessity perhaps but folklore is now her most beloved album by many some metrics. Her mirrorball tendencies are actually not necessary. People will listen to the music if it's good.
