Yesterday she said she thought the copy of Pride & Prejudice in the house might be his. I recall people here thought they broke up but can’t recall why.

Oh I missed that! For me that would make most sense. That they've separated and moved out. Who knows though with that family. It's mind boggling that her mum's salary must be a few million a year.

She made a comment that he was at the farm whilst jess’ mum was still in london when she was having her cancer treatment? Someone else will remember properly

Really hope she does a tour of her mum's bookshelves before she moves them but I won't hold my breath. Her tour of the library barn with her Aunt's books was one of my favourites.

Didn’t she say he was isolating though? If her mum was in and out of hospital and he was high risk that might explain it.
Her mum’s kitchen unsurprisingly looks lovely. Hot water tap over the cooker, krittel doors.
She doesn’t seem to have taken furniture or even her cups from the old house which seems odd.

I suppose Indie is now at uni and Jess has bought her own house and will be moving into it sometime in the next decade.
I have to say, I’m loving seeing more of her mums (old) house. She has exceptional taste, it’s classy but still ultra cosy. Just gorgeous. Jess could never, she tries to be too ‘cool’.
It does surprise me that those bookcases in the kitchen(?) expose the books to so much light, a lot of them looked very faded. I simply could never, no matter how gorgeous they look there.

Oh man, I wish I had some more in depth reccs for literature in general, but I actually only ever listen to fantasy ones, and mostly Cosmere/LOTR stuff
A couple of the ones I do listen to a fair amount are Elliot Brooks, Nerd of the Rings, and In Deep Geek. Given how Jess says she loves fantasy novels though, I feel like Elliot Brooks's style is super similar to something she could do, just kind of discussing her thoughts and opinions on something but going a lot more in depth on different topics than just "I liked it because x" or "I thought it was meh because y."---
I'm always unsure on whether I think she just doesn't have a very good vocabulary or if she's always focusing too hard on "cool" aesthetics. I remember a video years ago where she was vlogging going to get a tattoo, and I forget her exact wording but she described her outfit as "cool" and then kind of backpedaled and pretended she meant "comfortable" but it was clear to me that she was trying to portray an image of "badass who's covered in tattoos" instead of "posh rich girl." She uses "cool" to describe things SO MUCH.
Yeah I think Indie cut her hair early in the pandemic. And you're right her hairstyle is quite simple and she has fine straight hair

Agree her mum has beautiful taste. I love her old bedroom with the wardrobe leading into the bathroom. The colours work really well. The hang out area in the kitchen is lovely as well. The kitchen wouldn’t be to my taste but I can see the appeal.
I like her new house from the glimpse we got of it.

does she realise she doesn't need to do half an hour videos every day of vlogtober. I think 10 - 15 minute vlogs would be grand. I feel she sets these massive expectations for herself to put out lengthly videos and then gives up when it becomes too much effort.

Already no vlogtober video todayHer life is unbearably dull now. She mopes around the house all day and a “project” for her is moving books from one area to another. No wonder she has no drive or motivation.
She openly mentions a nanny without a hint of “we’re lucky to be able to do this as well as have a flexible work schedule. Respect to parents who are doing this on top of a normal 9-5”
Where is the self awareness Jess?! She’s becoming so unlikeable.
10 minutes of that vlog was talking about how many hours of sleep the baby gets. Ironically it sent me to sleep. I know it’s been said 100x before but I can’t believe she’s still delaying her mum listing her house. I would be mortified and feel so guilty. As if her toddler has a whole fucking floor to herself
I find the discussions of the baby’s sleep so boring. Does anyone like them? Im not a parent so maybe it’s a good discussion but it’s so boring lol

It seems kinda strange to me now that "the baby" is actually a toddler? And she was talking about recovering from "years and years" of interrupted sleep when it sounds like she's actually getting a pretty good amount of sleep now and whatever underlying issue she has that always makes her SO EXHAUSTED all the time is actually to blame.
ETA: not to say parenting isn't hard even with less interrupted sleep, but it's just odd the way Jess specifically always dwells SO MUCH on it while she's got the least tiring life otherwise.
I’ve said this before but Jess is just wasting potential right and left. If she wanted to make more money, she easily could. She coukd make videos analyzing popular books. Imagine her discussing Colleen Hoover lol. Maybe that’s selling out or something but the controversy would def get her views. I’m sure she’d never do that though.
Also she could tour London. I used to watch Niomi smart’s videos and she started a neighborhood of London series. Jess could do something like that, especially since she grew up in London. (Also I know Niomi is disliked immensely on here as was her London neighborhoods series lol, I just mean Jess could make better content than that)
At Edinburgh, Jess always seemed to take interesting classes and read interesting books. She introduced me to a lot of books I may have never heard of otherwise. I miss that. Im not really into speculative fiction so her new book content isn’t usually for me.

Disagree with her analyzing popular books (I think she's not into romance at all let alone cheap pop romance lol) but do agree she's wasted potential. Even just including more artsy outdoor shots would be nice to create an autumnal vibe
