I also wish she’d been able to elaborate more on why she thinks Ella is selfish - I’m willing to bet that opinion is based on a lot more than just one shower! From what we’ve seen over all these weeks, Whitney is straight and to the point, says it how it is etc. I don’t think she would just name call for no reason..

did anyone see the clip of cath saying something along the lines of they would always call ella selfish but in a jokey way

Basically, he said that this is the first thing Whitney has done wrong and she's getting rinsed for it. Whereas the others have consistently behaved badly. He says that black women are held to a much higher standard and the minute they back themselves they are categorised as angry black woman and the world comes down on them.
This is something you can only appreciate as a black woman. I am mixed race and even I'm far removed from it. It doesn't happen to black men either.

I don't agree that this is Whitneys first misstep. She has been 'telling it like it is' the whole way through and people have let it slide because they thought she was funny. It's only that there is nothing funny about saying 'You are the most selfish person I have ever met' that people are finally sitting up. Just in the past week she went in on Abi telling Abi how Abi feels, because Whitney 'doesn't lie', shutting Abi down and being a witch. I don't like Abi but there was no need. Then there was the remark she made to Scott when he was upset, I can't remember what it was about but she said something like 'maybe there was truth in it', again it was a bitchy comment for no reason and she has done that consistently across the season.

Let's not pretend that this is Whitneys first time being a witch, she hides behind being a tell it like it is person but we all know what that means in real life. Its very easy to 'tell it like it is' it's far harder to keep your mouth shut and just be kind sometimes.

Totally agree with this. A lot of her comments are harsh but they always seem to slide. More than anything, it's the way she was saying it to Ella. If she truly feels like that and wanted to raise it, she could have done so in a much nicer and more productive way.

I disagree with this point and I'd say it's the other way round. Much easier to say nothing imo.
I struggle with the whole be kind concept as well. People throw that out when they don't want to hear what you have to say. People don't have to be kind always. People should be holding boundaries and advocating for themselves whether it's kind or not.

ETA I'm not trying to make out Whitney is an angel by any stretch. I've winced at some things. My point is she isnt worse behaved then any of them. OG Ella telling new Ella to move, Mitch in general, Ty's blatant bullying of Scott, Sammy has made 3 girls cry. Whitney isn't behaving any worse than any of those horrible lot.

Mmm. It's not really about the whole 'be kind' concept imo. Whitney with both Scott and Abi in the examples I gave was just unnecessary. There was no need, it was being a witch for the sake of it, not telling anything 'how it is', at the end of the day 'telling it like it is' is only your opinion, it isn't necessarily actually how it is.

All of the people you have mentioned have been dragged for their behaviour too. They might still have 'fans' but so does Whitney, just look at this thread. I think if someone like Jess, the blonde with big lips and the common accent, had been acting like Whitney she would have been called out way sooner.

Not a chance. She’s a 10 at the smallest and a 14 at the biggest. And that’s not even big. And all bodies are normal ! We just so happen to live in a nation where the majority of our country is overweight or obese so seeing slim people on tv is apparently something to be disgusted at 😂
