Either way who knows, looks like he’s living his best life and he is playing the role of Mattson to perfection. Love the reverse flex of the character wearing cheap (for a billionaire ofc), accessible clothing. And the flex of deliberately flashing his abs when taking off his jacket 👩‍🍳🤌

Shiv is a fool for being so easily played but she is the product of her upbringing

Nothing in Succession happens by accident! The costume team know what they're doing. Last season she wore a lot of the 'wrong' things but I think this was representative of the fact she was losing her confidence and wasn't certain of her place in the family business, which meant her identity was shaken too. She didn't know how to dress and looked as uncomfortable as she felt inside.

I wonder if she’s turning to baggy clothes to hide her blossoming bump. I know she’s still early on but there was a lot of her folding her arms over her stomach, pulling her jacket over it etc

She’s meant to look awful - it’s to show that she isn’t fully able to step into the role her life has given her. She rarely wears the right thing and her outfits often don’t fit well. It’s not an accident on the part of the wardrobe department.

Yep, following on from my comment last week, this season they’re really ramping up how inhospitable a place Succession-land is for women 🙁
 
Shiv has no idea who she is which I think is also reflected in the terribleness. Plus also maybe a comment on our expectation that she should dress well - she may not give a tiny hoot about clothes. In fact I don’t think she does much which is why she never troubles herself to get it right.

The period she did get it better she was taking strides towards being who she thinks she ought to be - the successor. So dressing for a part.

Her hair at Connor's wedding was appalling. There was also a white dress over the period she was away at her Mum's wedding which didn't fit properly and might be the least flattering garment ever seen.

Edit to add - I was confusing 2 dresses - the Ted Baker one and this one.

I can understood confusion in work/office wear but surely she'd still know how to dress and do her hair for a family wedding!

Thought this link was interesting. I really like the orange puffa tweedy thingy she wore on ep 5 ( so not my usual cup of tea ! ) it’s over a grand so I won’t be walking the dog in that !
