Late catching up.

For me it was absolutely underlined and not crossed out. Kendall is the successor for me, always has been. He is ruthless when he needs to be and killer instinct which is what Logan would have wanted. Roman and Shiv not at the races for me in terms of being CEO.

I thought Romans scene with Kerry was excellent. He is kind at heart and the only one to treat her with a bit of human decency.

Loved the chats between the old guard " I'm going in on a Greek island, I want me cut". They are all vultures and Logan is barely cold which is reflective of these type of situations...the shake down as Greg said.

Tom is a slimey duck and will latch onto anyone who can benefit him, zero loyalties whatsoever....love that Frank ripped him a new one.

Roman has to be one the most perceptive of the siblings. He's (clearly) incapable of expressing authentic emotions himself but he always notices emotion in others e.g. S4 E1 when Shiv comes back from that call with Tom, he immediately sees that she's not ok and says they need to take a break to check on her. No one else does.

Sure, Kerry will be able to tell him if Logan heard that final voicemail but I think Roman was more motivated by the fact she was one of the few people there that was genuinely upset and she was treated like one of Waystar's NRPIs.

LOVE THIS.

It’s what I’ve been trying to think about him but not quite getting there. There is genuine kindness in him.

I think Roman is the only character who has actually changed somewhat for the better. Back in season 1 he would have fired Gerri and not cared at all, but he genuinely looked gutted that he had to do it and was even prompted to stand up to Logan in that voicemail because of it.

I agree! Everyone around him has been on some kind of moral decline whilst he seems to have found his conscience.

I am on Team Underline because Logan had previously crossed off properly in Season 3, Episode - Too Much Birthday.

But according to writer Lucy Prebble on the official Succession Podcast with Kara Swisher, she thinks it's crossed out but they kept it ambiguous.

I want to think he underlined it but I’m just not sure what the reasoning behind that would be? For emphasis? If he was going to change anything, wouldn’t he cross it out? But then if he crossed it out, wouldn’t he put another name in its place?

ETA - just realised the answer my last question.. Greg 😂

This is what is baffling: there were no other names written in the same section, so it wouldn’t need underlining for emphasis, but if it was crossed out, why wasn’t another name written in? ‘My son’ wasn’t crossed out, so was Roman’s name meant to go in there in lieu? (It’s not likely to be Connor, after all).

Another great episode. Shiv 🥹 Tom 🥹

I thought it was crossed out.

The “Princess” thing was quite unclear, wonder how that’ll play out…
I heard it as Princess and thought perhaps they meant Shiv, the one who ironically didn’t get a look in. I’d go for crossed out as why would there be a need to underline it at all if it hadnt changed? The whole crossing out/underlining thing didn’t seem to me like something Logan would do anyway. Whose benefit would it have been for as he’d know his own mind so it would have to be for the sake of someone else reading it but then why not write in the replacement?

Crossing something out in pencil doesn’t seem like a very Logan thing to do anyway. Really starting to think the old guard had a hand in the amendments 🧐
