stacey’s showdance is still one of the worst i’ve ever seen 🤦🏼‍♀️ and you’re right, i think people by this point have already made their mind up who they want to win and rose absolutely has it in the bag imo.

It would have been nice to have had a bit of a contest. Chucking my would-have-been-ajs votes at John this evening.

It was shockingly bad!
 
I think the BBC would get way more publicity and headlines with a same sex couple winning, and I also felt sometimes John was overmarked so dunno why people say it's been a done deal for Rose since day 1! 🤷🏼‍♀️ Loads commenting under the strictly page on twitter saying they aren't watching coz AJ isn't in it. Talk about kids throwing their toys out of the pram. You'd swear the BBC deliberately injured her 🙄

AJ and Kai were on with Claudia Winkleman talking about how being at the final will be hard, but that they're ready to cheer on Rose and John.

I understand people just being in their feelings that they won't be there, though

I don't think that is quite true - Rose and Gio were invited onto American morning news to talk about her groundbreaking CC. I think either would be good for news value, but Rose has it in the bag IMO.
I was sad to hear John saying the hateful messages have ramped up this week - I think we sort of assume that nearly everyone is on board with them and I am sure most Strictly viewers are, but we forget that there are lots of sad bigots out there frothing at the mouth when they see something on the news about J+J..

Except now there's the AJ (and Rhys) voters whose favourites are gone and who aren't that invested in John or Rose either way. I think that could make a difference.
 
I’ve dipped in & out of the threads while Strictly has been on. Have loved all the commentary and back & forth. Thank you for giving me a safe space to come to terms with my dislike of Tom and Neil.

My favs this series were Graziano & Judy and Nikita & Tilly. I also really liked Kai & AJ and am sad for them at not getting to perform tonight.

Enjoy the show tonight. Keep……. Tattling 🥰
 
I don't think people should be so rabid about their favourites as it is such a light hearted entertainment show and it doesn't matter who wins at the end of the day.

However there's nothing wrong with voting for your favourites rather than 'seeing who is best on the night'. Sports fans don't stop supporting their team because another one is technically better and deserves it more lol.

Season-long Rose fans aren't going to flip and vote for John on final night (even though on paper so far it does sound like he is going to put in the better performance imo) and vice versa. The judges are paid to be objective experts but the public is not. There's no need for people to get on their high horses about it.

No idea where our votes will go as we've been a Rhys household, but if he was dancing tonight he'd be getting all of them. idc if the other dancers are better, he is the one we've enjoyed watching the most. That is how most people choose who to vote for and its not a big deal - just enjoy the show!

Having said that most people are fine with JJ, someone on DS has posted that watching two men dance makes them uncomfortable, and others are saying it's fine to say that. Jesus wept.

I didn’t realise Stacey was favourite to win going into the final! Bloody hell, that’s as galling as Ore winning imo

2021 and people are hate filled messages about two same sex dancers 😔.

I still don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion! I know it’s only a small amount of people but a few here have said they’ll give John their votes now - not throwing shade, it’s up to everyone what they do with their votes - but if even a quarter of the voters did that (rather than not vote at all) then that could be the difference 🤷🏻‍♀️

I caught a bit of Tess and Claudia on the radio earlier, with Tess going on about how close it is and either could win, because she's really into stats and that what the stats tell her. Turns out Tess's stats were something like Rose has more 10s but John's been higher in the leaderboard (or the other way around).

Tess, that's not how the final is decided 😆
 
Im going to say it now... John and Johannes aren’t even that good. IMO they peaked ages ago, and Johannes does little to showcase John, instead making it all about him. I actually think Rhys was better in the dance off last week and in fact had been better than J&J for the past few weeks. Its a crying shame AJ had to pull out as we have been robbed of the final we should have had and I’m gutted we will not get to see her show dance. Maybe she and Kai can perform it at a later date and upload it to YouTube or something.

I agree. I don't hink they have been that great recently. Rhys had a journey and got better but the J &J partnership had turned into Johannes dancing and John trying to keep up. However, somehow I think they will win, even though Rose is a far better dancer. Gutted about AJ. I'm looking up tour tickets if she's doing it!
