Plenty of popular dancers have left the show over the last 20 years. Lets hope that this Gio things dies down soon. Or if there is going to be another scandal to take the attention away from this it’s going to be a sex tape showing an orgy with Nikita, Katya, Vito, Jowita, Carlos and Luba.
 
Me and the old dear were at Anton amd Giovanni's show the other night

It's a fabulous show - if you like lovely singing, dancing and dresses!!! Which we do.

Gio primarily plays straight man to Anton's clown and it works really well.

Lauren also has a much bigger role. She talks about getting a shot of microphone for the first time. She also had a big song and dance number. Her voice ain't that great but she got through it on personality. Probably needs a lot of lessons if she wants to expand this side of her career.

I know we've been wondering which Reality Show Gio will pop up on and I think I've figured it out - the Masked Singer!!! On his own show he did Somewhere (West Side Story) along with his singers and he had several numbers the other night. Can just see a pizza slice being unveiled as Gio!!!

I like what Ian says. The show has gone full throttle down the one big happy family route and rarely shows the uglier side to it, that they absolutely used to. I remember the Karen and Mark R training sessions where it was all v tense and Zoe B being in tears.
 
All 5 of those pros had partners who publicly hated the experience, but most were in the first few series where they wouldn't have known what they were getting into (apart from Pasha with Naga where she was basically forced into it by the BBC) - Vincent probably had the most iconic one of all in Stephanie Beacham.

I do miss the more raw rehearsal footage, however I do think they can't fully go there again with social media and cancel culture, if a couple gets a bad edit (1 bad minute out of 30 hours training), then people will be all over it and it could be a PR nightmare. But find a happy medium and ditch the 'we're all gonna be besties for life' nonsense because that's a bit cult-like.

The bit Ian mentioned about Shirley is interesting but again reaffirms that what's good for the ballroom world isn't necessarily great for light entertainment TV. The reason Len was so successful was that he had charm to balance out his critiques, and he didn't usually get angry at the celeb (sometimes the pros though).
 
I think all the pros are tough on their celebrity partners at times. They didn’t get to be professional dancers by not working incredibly hard and being soft. I don’t think the issue with Gio is his training methods as such. I think the problem is his attitude. He comes across as superficial and narcissistic. It’s his way or the highway. He thinks it’s the Gio show whilst the other pros recognise it’s not all about them. Yes there have been other clashes between pros and their partners over the years but none of the professionals have got 4 former partners complaining.

She posts with him quite regularly. I must admit I did click on his profile earlier as I’m a nosy fucker but it was locked down.

When I clicked on his insta profile all the suggested for you which came up were buff young topless men so I suspect she may not have the right equipment for him.

Was July 19th for newbies in 2021 and July 11th in 2022. I'm really hoping we get someone joining the roster. I suspect it would only be 1 newbie and not 2 though.

Not replacing both Gio & Cameron would be lazy, especially when they have such a bloated roster of female pros.

I imagine there may be two new males pros. A younger one likely to be benched and an older/experienced one who could slot straight in, maybe having done an international version of Strictly? Assuming that Johannes, Neil and maybe Gorka will be on their way out soon

No wonder she is so nasty at times to the celebs.

But the celebs aren't professional dancers and aren't trying to be, it's a light entertainment show and she takes it way too seriously.

Until there's a young guy she fancies.

I liked Shirley at the start but her bias is so obvious now. Also not a shock she isn't supporting the women involved, or not even staying neutral.

I'm all for thirsting over a man as you know, but she is so unprofessional with her bias. She hates women, so often so nasty to female celebs on the show, barely acknowledges the female pros.

No wonder Darcey left, the epitome of grace and class and elegance.
