Why are you acting like he kicked a kitten? Don’t get me wrong, if I was on a date with him and he asked for extra bacon and complained about the service time it would give me the ick. But it’s hardly worth cancelling him over - he still seemed polite about it.

God could you imagine how insufferable Fanny Rat would be if he got partnered with an older woman (Debbie McGee doesn’t count bc she was so physically fit and was in her early 60s anyway)?

I feel like he’d be all flirty with her and acting like he loves older women and just be generally insufferable he’s no Kai.

Well, that's what I said isn't it? Not that he's a horrible person, just that he did something deeply unattractive so other pros have moved up the favourites list, that's all.

Nikita moved down below Vito and Katya during CBB, but he ended up not making too big a tit of himself, so he gets to go back to first place. I still don't like him as much as I did before though. Like, lol come on, he did Big Brother.

To be fair, that article's very vague, and from 'a source.' The whole saga confuses me. It's insane of them to back him and it'll only look worse in the end if something bigger comes out. But I really don't see how he could be innocent either. There's no way that many people have had issues with him if the problem isn't him.

I'm extremely sick of him and ready for him to duck off, or at least be benched. Can't believe he used to be my favourite male pro just a few years ago.

I think it’s the fact they haven’t had any official complaints. I’d imagine this ‘meeting’ with producers is them telling him he needs to calm down next season or he’s off, which is fair. I get it’s hard for people to come forward, especially given how his fans have reacted, but realistically the bbc won’t do anything unless an official complaint is made. Them sacking him off unofficial claims could turn very ugly. Plus Brendan was on the show for years whilst having partners complaining about him, so I doubt Gio is going anywhere…

Here we go...a DS Gio fan has stepped in to clarify things:

This is the tabloids stirring the pot, surprised people would even believe this. Faye remained friendly with Gio and even said her hubby is pals with him (in 2019). Then only last year didn't Faye repost her old Halloween routine with her 'gorge partner'. Seems the press really want to bring him down. All the pros get emotional on Strictly, I doubt for one second Faye would have anything to do with a partner that caused her that much distress. Probably will be Rose next! Unless they say something to shut down these rumours or allegations like Debbie did, they'll just continue with their witch hunt. It's getting ridiculous now.
I'd be surprised if Gio is not back with a partner, the backlash would be off the charts. I think a lot of people can see through these stories!

I really wonder: would the Gio fans actually turn against Saint Rose if something came out about her (the 'stupid cow' video, maybe?) At what point would they actually admit that maybe, just maybe, he can be a dick?

I'm certain most Rio admirers would turn on Rose in a heartbeat if she ever shattered their image of a perfect partnership. Not all of them (the wars would be legendary) but if it were less than 70% I'd be astonished.

I think he was probably the least dickish to her anyway, so she probably wouldn't have much to say. He wasn't going to let anything stop him getting his hands on the glitterball.

Seems like a one-way friendship atm. Rose hasn’t liked a post of his since November, and hasn’t left a comment since August!

I'm sure I've mentioned it before but during lockdown Faye and Gio did a video chat thing together, it was friendly but there was a bit of an undercurrent of Faye basically mentioning him being super strict with Faye basically alluding to some clashes because she wasn't taken it from him.
But she's been in a performance industry for a long time and maybe didn't take it personally and she was excellent so likely didn't want to upset her.

I don't think I've seen them interreact since so whilst I don't think it was one of his bad partnerships it equally wasn't a particularly warm one too.

I think for Faye it was the working relationship of someone who has worked in the industry for a long time and is used to working intensely with a person/group of people for the period of a show and then the contract ends and it’s off to be part of a new group.

Sounds like Fate and Michelle were the same. Both tough professionals, Michelle saying she could take it because she’s Italian and shouted back. He was probably nice to Debbie and Rose as they were vulnerable, and to Ranvir after she broke down in tears.
I await the public messages of support from Rose and Faye.

Don't know if this article has been posted here before but she's a name that keeps getting mentioned. Looking at cyclist's track records she'd probably be awful but if she was half decent she could win it, I think she'd get a lot of public support. Think of how loved Helen was last year and multiply by 10 . People commenting wanting to pair her with Gio but I reckon Gorka would do well with her
