Strictly Come Dancing 2024 #13

I quite like Tasha so no hate there, just gutted that SCD have gone down the route of saying just because somebody went on a reality TV dating show, they are now deemed celebrity enough to take part. They’ve opened a huge can of worms for the future. Now these influencers that go on shows like LI purely for the insta followers and ‘fame’, will also be hawking themselves for SCD 🤦🏻‍♀️

I watched Tasha's season of Love Island so I'm aware of who she is. I'm also aware from her time on LI that she worked as a professional dancer, although I'm sure all that dance experience will be played down.

Yes, the usual “it’s nothing like ballroom” bollix😂

Anyway, came rushing here to see the Pete Wicks reaction!!

With Tasha she does have a podcast about people with superpowers/disabilities, is an eBay/preloved ambassador and has written a book. I feel like she is slightly different to the standard Love Island contestant who goes to the opening of an envelope and is shilling teeth whitening. Like Zara she has used her platform for good rather than just to get free stuff and not work, hence why I imagine she was chosen. I can’t see them ever picking from the standard LI roster.

I guess Tasha has the disability to balance out her Love Island-ness but I am already dreading the Ringer Warz, both from the antis and the defenders saying 'no it's actually a disadvantage'. She presumably won't win anyway unless she can win everyone over with her personality and the right partner - Kai?

Also was the new male pro/Luke Miller story a fake, or is he going to be announced after the celeb reveals are done?

Pete confirmed! Let’s get ready to turn this into a Pete Wicks rave thread 😎🤣
Whoop whoop!!! 🤣🤣

Aw God, he's going to end up giving us the permanent ick isn't he 🤣🤣

Wonder who he will be partnered with 🤔

Zara has posted supporting Pete which is nice
It is, I know a lot of people don't like her on here but I think she seems like a nice person who is trying to do good with her documentaries and that.

I never understand why people need to deny when a person is a ringer!?? She clearly is (well should be anyway) and I'm already looking forward to seeing her dances!!

Very excited about Tasha, every series needs a ringer. She's lovely and they can probably introduce her as a model and disability campaigner rather than a love islander. I've said it before, but love islanders are bigger celebrities than the YouTubers they've had on, and they have TV experience unlike YouTubers, so they are legitimate celebs imo as long as they've done other stuff since LI and didn't just go down the influencer route. I think we're safe from all of the beggy islanders who have no careers and just advertise crap on Instagram, but there are a handful who are known for other things and would be interesting signings.
