The fact Will didn't do the jump at any point other than the live show, proves they knew it was past his capabilities and that it would harm him in doing it. They just thought it was worth it for a one time thing. If that doesn't show you how little Strictly care about the contestants then nothing will.
The Facebook Beryls are properly getting their knickers in a twist over this one and totally blaming Will as he should know his body and refused. That said, one of them has said it’s Bill Bailey rather than Will and peak confusion has occurred as nobody bothers to read anything properly.

It's such a stupid argument because even if you want to (I don't) say that's true, it's irrelevant, producers/pros still have a duty of care to assess the limitations of the contestants, if they can't even do something so basic as identify someone with no ankles hasn't the stability to do a high impact landing on his feet, you shouldn't be in the bleeping job. It's insanely unprofessional. And even worse, if you do indeed know (which again, I insist they did because they didn't get him to practice a single time in advance because they knew he shouldn't be doing it) and go ahead with it anyway, you are not only stupid you are actively harmful and should be done for negligence.

Just sitting here pondering about how some celebs in the past really emphasised how kind their Pros were and wondering if some of them were maybe trying to hint all was not well in strictlyland and how genuinely grateful they must have been feeling if they knew how bad others had it.

Got to be teeth. The way he is smiling.

The latest on the Will jump has convinced me the problem is the production and its core values. It isn’t the individual dancers at fault, they are being pressurised to be risky and to win at all costs for the sake of ratings and their future inclusion in the programme. I am not giving dancers bad behaviour a pass, they are totally out of order and in some cases, possibly criminal. But they were enabled by the production team. It is clear they knew Graz was Dr Jeckell and Mr Hyde but seemingly no sanctions were deemed necessary. The SCD production is a workplace like any others, and fairness and dignity at work should apply. And the BBC’s big thing is inclusivity but that literally seems to be a tick box exercise - get a disabled person on, but then don’t worry what happens to them on the show. Will’s life was difficult before the injury, but now he has that injury on top.

Did he sue? He should. Did Dawn French sue when she permanently injured her knee covering for Paul O’Grady on his chat show (needed a new knee - they asked her to reenact that famous jumping in a puddle from Dibly and didn’t put enough padding down for the drop) or anyone who has injured themselves on The Jump.

The BBC article today says he tried to hold them accountable for loss of earnings but got nowhere, but they did pay for his ACL surgery.

Poor Will. Anyone with eyes could have told you he most likely wouldn’t have been able to do that stupid jump. I knew he was badly injured but had no idea it was his ACL, that’s probably the worst injury someone in sports can get.

The only reason I think it won’t be cancelled this year is because it’s so close to it starting with 100’s of jobs at risk, for some people this is the only income they get all year. If this was all coming out in April/May for example I think they would probably have postponed it.

100%.
I hope HSE take Strictly higher-ups to the cleaners! Absolutely nowhere near taking precautions “as far as is reasonably practicable”.
