I think people need to be careful with jumping to the worst conclusion over Strictly pro’s & their partners. Yes of course Will shouldn’t have been pushed to do a jump that injured him but arguably, he should have known his limits. And if he had concerns, voiced them. The BBC possibly failed in their duty of care to both him & Janette who had only ever had experience training able bodied celebs at that point & probably had no clue of the injury risk. Saying something is rubbish is hardly a bad thing to say. It’s a competition, I compete (not in dancing) & I’m told I can do better all the time. If I wasn’t pushed by my coach, I wouldn’t do as well. If I took every negative comment to heart, I’d be a mess 😂 Will is an Olympian, there is no way he hasn’t had very tough coaches in his life. And it sounds like he doesn’t remotely blame Janette.

People seem surprised professional dancers are ruthless & competitive. Well, yeh, of course they are. They’ve come from a very harsh, ultra competitive world from being kids..

According to him, he did - both Will and his coach told production he couldn't do jumps and yet one was choreographed into his routine anyway. Why? (I think this isn't just a Strictly issue but a wider thing about society wanting to see those with disabilities be 'superheroes' and 'overcome' their disability)

Yes, he could have refused to do it, but in the context of the rest of his account, imagine what an awful position he was put in - already made to feel like an outsider with a bad attitude as he had raised concerns already. It sounds like it was in no way Will's fault and it's horrendous that he was even put in that position

He did know his limits. He told them from the beginning that he couldn't do jumps. His coach also advocated for him. But he was still pressured into doing it. It's easy to say he just shouldn't have done it, but it's not really that simple. There is a lot of pressure on celebs to deliver a good performance, and relentless press attention, they probably go along with a lot of things they aren't comfortable with through fear of being labelled difficult or lazy. There are multiple people above the celebrity in the pecking order on Strictly, saying no to something can't be easy.

Another bit of Will's account that's concerning - he says all throughout the week, they mimed the jump and they only included it properly on the Friday.

So on some level, they must have known it would be difficult for him, so why put it off and leave it to the last minute? Maybe that was Will pushing back and hoping they would eventually drop it or maybe they thought there was a better chance he would agree if there was more pressure on him last minute.

The sad thing is you know Neil won’t be able to resist looking online to see what is said about him as he’s so needy for attention. The other day I was about to pay for something in a shop when I got a Reddit notification pop up on my phone from their Strictly sub entitled Neil. I can’t escape from that fucker. Sadly the consensus on there was similar to here (@StephenTJackson and his deviancy aside) and this post sums him up I think.

It's interesting Jamie Biscuits being confirmed as production fav it was speculated at the time he was when inexplicably he was saved in the Semi-final over Ranvir despite being awful the whole series.
Only Motsi saved her, Craig and Shirley saved Jamie. Ranvir's Jive was terrible but her Waltz scored higher than both Jamies dances.I
Looking at the stats ever single time Jamie was bottom two she voted Jamie.

Yikes, the Will Bayley revelations are awful, and shocking. They demanded he do it even though they were told multiple times he couldn't?! They didn't let him go to hospital?! I honestly naively thought TPTB couldn't be that dumb. I'd always leant towards thinking that he must have wanted to do it and believed he could do it. I even thought perhaps it was his idea and production was hesitant to tell him he couldn't for fear of being seen as discriminatory. How do the dumbest people alive consistently reach upper management positions? Why are all company heads so bleeping stupid and why do I keep being surprised? Hope he sues the arse off them.

Janette's not the brightest, and one of those annoyingly optimistic people, so she probably didn't mean any harm, but still. Eek.

The Fail is attacking Amanda again, presumably briefed by Gio's team. This is depressing but plausible, I'm guessing they wouldn't be briefing this hard if he was going to be found guilty. :cautious:

the Mail can also today reveal that those aware of the details of the evidence-led probe into Mr Pernice say they believe the allegations are unlikely to be found proven.

It paves the way for the professional dancer, who has strongly denied any misconduct towards Ms Abbington, to be cleared three months after the inquiry began.

I do wonder if they are trying to paint Amanda as they are, so that if Gio isn’t cleared, his team can then say BBC felt they had no option etc. So stir up hate towards Amanda and blame her for what appears to be a history of poor duty of care etc.

That's absolutely heartbreaking. I cannot begin to imagine the pressure he must have felt to do something like that. Heartbreaking and then he wasn't even looked after properly in the aftermath. 😔
