Zara’s dancing was slated as not being very good. My performance in just about anything is bad if I have someone sniping at me. Imagine having to train from a place of fear and then having to go out and dance under the nation’s gaze. And pretend that he is an amazing teacher etc. Brutal.
In my fantasy Strictly land if I was ever on the show I would have wanted to be partnered with Graz over my favourite dancers as I would be tit and thought he would be kind and look after me. I’d be a bloody nervous wreck and would probably be stumbling about like Zara was. I remember us commenting all the time about how she was constantly in lift because she couldn’t dance. There needs to be a huge amount of trust in your partner for lifts. The poor girl must have been bloody terrified.

Poor Zara, that she felt it necessary to offer all those caveats. I am STILL seeing a lot of 'but why was she still friends with him?' even after he was sacked! Similar to the 'but Ranvir was so pally with Gio for ages after SCD!'

Arduino has left a supportive comment on Graz's post - 'I'm always behind you ❤'. I'm disappointed - I know they have been friends for a long time and are involved in that dance school in Italy with Giada's brother too etc, but he still should know better.

Funny isn’t it how tattle gets this awful name as being full of trolls and yet this thread is the ONLY place I haven’t seen victim blaming and vile comments to Zara. Every tweet, FB post or TikTok I’ve seen on this has at least one awful comment. I’m so glad this thread is the way it is
Shame the same can’t be said about some of the tattlers on Zara’s thread. Whilst there is a lot of support, unfortunately you still get the dicks because they just don’t like her, they can’t see past that and are still victim blaming. At least there are people on there calling them out for it though 👍🏻

Safest place for him. Graz can’t kick him if he is always behind him. Except he wouldn’t anyway. He only picks on women.

Her 'i fully understood the commitment and hard work...' line makes me sad because it's clearly been included because of the online discourse around she just didn't want to work hard enough

Absolutely. Without saying it directly, Zara’s statement makes quite clear that she’s aware of the allegations that Amanda was too lazy to want to train, and that she is aware of the abuse, death threats and rape threats that Amanda and her family received when she spoke up, and that’s the reason why she was too scared to say anything.

What a despicably misogynistic society we live in 😡

Didn't he propose on stage ?
Looking at it now, that could be seen as controlling. She could hardly say no.

Public proposals are always manipulative and coercive, in my opinion. It’s a calculated display of ‘look how wonderfully loving & caring I am’, and it severely limits the other party’s capacity to not accept.

I massively side-eye all public proposals. 👀

Ha. He actually says 'close to you' in Italian. But yes, I can imagine he has never witnessed this and struggles to believe it's true. Graz is probably gaslighting him and his wife etc that it was just a row that got exaggerated.

I see the tabloids are saying Graz has 'fled to Italy'. He was already in Italy on holiday! I imagine he just won't come back.

So telling that he was able to put the post on his grid though. Of course there are many reasons why Zara might prefer to keep it on her stories, but the fact is that Graziano has 30k likes on the post and has gained 4k followers since this all started:View attachment 3055997
How has he gained followers through all of this?!

I'm honestly devastated for Zara. My sister and I have always said that if there was one reality show we'd do, it would be Strictly. To find out that some of the pros are like this is terrible. Nobody should ever be treated the way she has been and then to top it all off people jump to defend him and berate you because of the public persona he put on.

SCD was a cosy place once. Snuggle down, immersive. It has become so tacky over the years. Well Bruno was always tacky but Motsi and Shirley being totally exhibitionist on the panel, constantly up and down, OTT. All the ringers. The exhibition gurning in the Green Room. It has probably just been on too long, or the BBC have ruined it. And now this. The kicking camel professional dancers. As far removed from glamour as you can get.

Zara’s boyfriend was mainly in Oz doing the jungle at the same time. Both of them should have been on a high.

Did anyone watch that social experiment called The Trail on C4 where they re-enacted a case of a bloke killing his wife with a hammer, and the experiment juries had to decide on murder or manslaughter?

You legimately still had some of them asking, "... But I want to know what she said to him..."

Like duck off! What could anyone have possibly said that would warrant them getting their head smashed in with a hammer?
It was disgusting, I had to turn it off, the mental gymnastics some people went to justify what he did, some were utter utter scumbags

It’s interesting, I do wonder what he’s like away from training. I had a grandparent who was incredibly harsh to me & my cousins when we were children and at her home. We got smacked on the bum, smacked on the arm, arms grabbed very hard. We got shouted at constantly and constantly told our behaviour was silly and ridiculous. This was from as young as I can recall. Yet, in front of my parents & out in public, she was your typical doting grandparent. Sweet, thoughtful, kind. My parents had no idea until I told them as an adult what she used to be like! They didn’t believe me until my cousins all lined up the same memories!

I do think it’s entirely possible he pulled the wool over a lot of people’s eyes.. I’ve seen it happen first hand. It’s not particularly difficult!

Never ever been on this thread before, so refreshing to see people calling out the blatant and dangerous misogyny we see in other online forums and social media in relation to this situation. Heart goes out to Zara. I actually just popped on to say I was on a train in May that Graziano got on, he got on in Doncaster to London due to a cancellation so there were a few having to get on the train who otherwise weren’t booked on. He was with his wife and another guy. He blagged seats in first class with the guy and left his wife in the coach with everyone else. I remember thinking it was bleeping bizarre at the time.

This is how I feel. I knew the X Factor was quite dark and there is a huge scandal to be told there which I hope will come out in time, but Strictly always seemed the polar opposite of that. Warm, happy, positive and unashamedly camp. Maybe I was just naive but it’s now looking like it’s as bad as all the other reality shows and I feel cheated by that. I also can’t believe I was so taken in by Graz, but it looks like we all were. I’m not sure there any come back from this now

Well that says a lot about how he views and treats his wife doesn’t it?

I was reading Juliets post about Zara’s statement and was pleasantly surprised that they seemed to be supportive. Then Laytons biggest moaner popped up complaining about him. She even managed to make this situation about her rage at him. Whilst you’re still ranting love he is living his best life starring in Cabaret and doing a double of his dance show with Nikita today. See even though some people manage to pull the wool over our eyes some people are just consistently a bleep 😂

They might not be supportive ‘follows’ - it’s possibly people wanting to see what he says/does next, but not from a positive/‘fan’ perspective.

I think when anyone is involved in something newsworthy or ‘scandalous’ they tend to gain more followers, due to basic nosiness.

Yes I think the followers will eventually drop. There was an Instagrammer who had a scandal a while back and her followers did increase quite a bit but I guess it was because people wanted to see if she would make any comment. Suppose some people just like to curtain twitch

I honestly don't know if I want to watch it this year. A racist and an apologist on the judging panel, the unsafe environment being exposed, how fake all the nicey nicey will seem now...

What a cloud for the 20th anniversary. I honestly think they should can it this year and spend a year putting safeguards and procedures in place and giving pros adequate training to properly support and teach their partner while looking after their own mental health. They don't have time to scramble everything the show needs to be a safe environment together now.

I feel the same. I probably still will because it's one of the few things that make me feel close to my late gran, but it's tainted and I don't know if they can pull it back from that tbh.
