Ugh, this is just awful. Already had warnings?! Admits to anger management issues?! Well that's definitely the last shred of hope obliterated that it was something blown out of proportion because they wanted to show the investigation produced results, or that it was one lapse of judgement in an otherwise nice person.
It might not be entirely fair, but I don't trust any of the other pros now. They know him in real life, he can't have kept up the puppy persona around them all the time, especially as he behaved like that in front of witnesses/a camera. Not to excuse him, but I think it does speak to a culture of abuse across the whole industry - that multiple people knew and he thought he could get away with letting it be filmed. It's easy to see how it escalated as people kept turning a blind eye.
Also, again, possibly massively unfair, but I can't help but wonder about Sam Thompson now too. He's an overenthusiastic puppy personality as well, and it seems likely that someone else must treat/have treated Zara the same way for her to normalise it. Especially as she didn't just put up with it to get through her Strictly contract, she stayed friendly and supportive towards him months later, and seems she wasn't even going to make a complaint of her own accord. I hope she's not letting the trolls get her down and can heal from this.
