For a while now, I've been mildly curious about Ellie mentioning that Amanda was like an on-set 'mum' to her, inviting her round for dinner, etc., and they apparently became quite close. At the time I wondered if, what with Ellie being young and relatively sheltered both career-wise and seemingly in her personal life too, Amanada had consciously decided to keep an eye on her to make sure she wasn't pushed into things she didn't want to do, wasn't treated badly, etc (not suggesting by Vito, more by production more generally, as I know a lot of former Strictly contestants have been coerced into stuff they weren't entirely comfortable with), as maybe she remembered being young/naive in TV/film and knows how easily the industry can chew up & spit out inexperienced, eager-to-please types. I mean, maybe I've got Ellie completely wrong and she's as tough as old boots, but that's not the impression I got of her.

So how insane is it that it turns out Ellie wasn't the one who needed 'protecting'. It was Zara who needed looking out for, despite being older than Ellie, already a veteran of reality tv, and being partnered with seemingly one of the 'nicest' men on the show? 🤯

For all the tit Amanda gets for being 'difficult' I always thought her befriending Ellie was really kind, like you say she knows what showbiz circles can be like especially for young woman.
I can see the thinking of Graz has been on the show years, everyone loves him and his lovely wife adores him too what a safe pair of hands.
Versus Vito, still fairly new had a romance on the Italian version and there being a bit of an age gap. Yet so far he appears to have been kind and caring with Ellie and helped her though a tough time.

OMG when someone mentioned Pasquale getting a last minute call up I totally thought they meant Joe Pasquale as a contestant, I didn’t know there was a pro called that 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

oh my goodness the couldn't be more different This is Pasquale la Rocca

Yes, that completely sums it up - what ‘safer pair of hands’ was there on the show? Who seemed more stable, more patient, less egotistical or more easygoing than Graziano? 🤷‍♀️

One thing I have come to realise over the last couple of years is that when women are portrayed as being ‘difficult’, nine times out of ten it means they’re not interested in pandering to patriarchal expectations, and are not shy about calling that tit out 😎

Exactly.

He would almost be the last person I would have thought of, if I was told there's a big story about to emerge about a pro, a very negative story.

I very much think Amanda took Ellie under her wing, to make sure she was OK. Think we have all said Ellie had lived what appeared to be quite a sheltered life.
I think the only thing Vito has to be careful of, is being too touchy with someone who isn’t comfortable with that level of touchy feely etc. Vito is good though at matching the vibe of the person he is with. His vibe with Fleur was different to with Ellie. I liked the Vito with Fleur, his interviews on her radio show were funny, don’t think we got that with Ellie so much.
Then you just have to look at difference between Vito dancing with Luba and then with Dianne. Totally different vibes from him.
---
Each year, I think we might get a different Vito.

This is how it should be - work with the individual in front of you and adapt. This applies to behaviour and training. Some times you just need to make sure they have fun and don’t fall over. Others may lack confidence so need nudging out of their comfort zone (but not to far!) It is not about perfection and winning - just getting the best out the celeb and making it an enjoyable experience.

I always enjoyed when Vito and Ellie were on ITT with Fleur. There was always an extra bit of fun there because of Vito and Fleur having been partnered the previous year.

I shall await to see if Ellie is going to Ibiza now or off to Italy with Vito. Strictly and the BBC (and Roy bless him), keeping everything crossed that Ellie will appear in Italy (with Vito).

I commented previously that I felt bad for Amanda hearing all Ellie’s stories about napping, eating and general larking about during rehearsals in comparison to her own experiences of sneaking in an oatcake whilst FR took a phone call.
Now I think about how Zara must’ve felt sharing a room with Ellie and Nikita K, I wonder if she mentioned any of these training incidents to them?

Poor Roy, just had a look at Vito’s brother insta (who seems to be at a wedding in Italy) - noticed Roy is now commenting on his posts … He’s definitley willing to die on that ship 🛳️😂
---
Who is this Roy of which you speak?
( I genuinely have no idea? )

Roy is a man in his 70s who comments on all Ellie and Vito’s Insta posts about their love and his hope they will eventually realise they are meant to be together romantically 😂

This is a really good example of a handsome and charming man being much darker in private to kick, spit and verbally abuse someone isn't taking training too far that's abuse. There are a lot of women trapped in relationships with men like this who are too scared to leave because no one would ever believe the truth about their 'human Labradors' the life and soul of every friendship group.
Pretty privilege is such a thing for men - I’ve often said handsome guys seem to get away dickish (and in some cases abusive) behaviour that unattractive guys would be called out for.

In saying that, probably just my personal taste but I’ve never found Graz very attractive anyway!

Okaaaaay. Thank you. 😘

I Still would go for a ride though. 😂😂

Well that goes without saying! I just assume the only people associated with Strictly who don’t tickle your fancy are Anton and Dave Arch.
( And now you’re going to tell me you have a thing for Dave Arch right? )

I don't think pretty privilege is just a male thing tbh.
