So was she a Rose/Gio shipper in the wild, or just someone who doesn't like Gio and doesn't want Jowita to be with him?? I wonder if it will damage J a bit professionally..

Rose and Hamza were mentioned a lot and she said that they were both her faves, but didn't get the impression that she was a crazy Rose/Gio shipper

I do remember her calling Gio "arrogant" though lol so most likely the latter. Probably fell out of love with Gio this year?
For some reason though she seemed to really not like J now, said something along the lines of J being 'deceptive and taking advantage of Hamza so that she could win'

Didn't actually talk to her, but if I had to guess probably was a Hamza/Jowita shipper who invested a bit too much?

Rumours going around that we may have a wheelchair using celeb competing in this year’s Strictly. What do we make of that? I’d be interested to see how it would work because it is physically a much bigger challenge than any other disabled contestant we’ve had.

Not a huge pool of people to select from them. So if they do, I'm saying it will be Ade Adepitan. Be different, lifts, legwork, frame all that. The rulebook basically goes out the window completely. Might be a bit too far in terms of limiting the dance content ability of routines. I don't know.

I feel like it has been done quite a few years ago, bare with me because I honestly can't remember the name of the programme but it may of been on BBC three It had some reference to Strictly and the main contestant was a handsome guy who was wheelchair bound and he was partnered up with Caroline Flack they had choreographed routines around and using his chair then completed and if memory serves he started developing feelings for her.

I don’t know. I find myself conflicted. I know that there was the Dancing in Wheels won by Caroline Flack and James O’Shea but on the main show, they struggle enough comparing dances as it is without adding other factors into the mix.
But then I think of Dame Tanni and Hannah Cockcroft and David Wier and Kadeena Cox and think hold on, why shouldn’t they have a chance at the sparkles as well.

yes jinx. :D
it was Dancing on Wheels. Caroline won with a Paralympic swimmer. I think the Jordan’s judged and Brian Fortuna had something to do with it as well.
It was celebrities paired with wheelchair users … but none of them were pro dancers. The actual celeb dancers were like a whos who of Strictly. Mark Foster and Martin Ofiah for sure.

I think there was a prize for the winner to represent the Uk at a dance competition?

I think in theory Ade Adepitan (or possibly David Weir) could actually work.
He’s got serious upper body strength so he’d be fine with lifts and spins, absolutely lovely bloke and he’s a right laugh.
The really obvious elephant in the room is how the judges would mark him. All the celebs with disabilities who’ve done Strictly before have had upper and lower body movement, so the pro could choreograph armography and footwork and the judges could critique it.
I think it could work - I’d just hate it to be some kind of patronising, half arsed thing. They’d seriously need to think carefully about which pro they chose.

And please not Tanni Grey Thomson. She’s an absolute cow.

I think someone who's experienced in wheelchair rugby or basketball might be their best bet? Not just because of the strength but they'll be used to moving a wheelchair in a fast, specific way (I'm making huge assumptions here about so apologies if I'm wrong)

I know the article said about how the pro would need extra training, but surely they would still need ongoing help as none of them would know anything about teaching wheelchair dancing (that I know of)

But if the will is there to make it work and they're given support, I can see it happening. With marking issue, I don't know how that would work, but it's not like the judges stick to any strict criteria anymore anyway

i think David Weir would be a tremendous booking. His upper body strength is phenomenal as is his dexterity.

I think Brian Fortuna was involved with Dancing on Wheels because he is actually a wheelchair dance teacher, so he would be a good one to approach again.

is it about now Gio starts his partner pitch?

I was thinking that tweet Neil did a few weeks back about being inspired by a disabled woman in the gym might have been his clumsy attempt at a pitch

Unless Neil has experience teaching wheelchair dancing, I can't see it happening

Was thinking mainly of the fact we are back with Olympics/paralympics next year so while the usual rules about still competing athletes will apply for this year, Tanni is a presenter and commentator … and whatever else she would be a big name.

The Giovanni and Rose FB page were discussing how amazing of a jump Gio had in insta followers and how popular he is. Who is going to tell them! 🤣🤣
He's up 20k since hitting 1m - slowed down but not stopped adding bots!

Fleur and Vito won tonight too! It would probably have been a clean sweep if she'd been able to do Friday night. Wonder who the Belfast crow will go for!

There were 2 wheelchair users in the Strictly for Sport Relief special in 2014. Martine Wright with Ian Waite and Hannah Cockcroft with Pasha Kovalev.

I do think there will come a time where if they keep overlooking wheelchair users on the main series there'll be questions asked but not sure it will be this series. I think George who did the Christmas special more than proved he could do the main series or I think it take two's 'interest' in visual impairment is another avenue for this year.
