I didn't mind her dancing with the backing dancers, but I didn't particularly like all the lifts and skipping around a fountain stuff. To me, that's the sort of thing that belongs in a duffer's routine to make it more entertaining, and it's just a waste for one of the good ones to do that instead of more dance content.

Yeah, I get it: the show, judging from the production meeting shown, clearly wanted the opener to be 'like a stage musical' - ie busy, complicated, etc. I think Vito decided to make a virtue of that by showing off what Ellie could do (complicated partner work, looking natural doing all sorts of stagework) which the judges appreciated, but which goes down less well with the audience, who just want to see the couples flying round the floor. Viz Bobby's very competent QS - by virtue of it being just the two of them, him in tails, a good song, looks amazing.
Yet again, the motto is - let the pros choreograph and stop Jason etc deciding the themes and styles!

Yeah I know Ellie had the capacity to do an amazing QS which is why I just found that one totally disappointing. I wonder if she felt let down at all by the staging of it.

I only realised after linking the clip that they yap for twenty five minutes after the dance?! 😱 I hope there's an open bar for the studio audience! 😂

MY EYES!! she looks tit too! Everytime people complain about Strictly needing an overhaul they need to be made to watch back-to-back Ballando dances with their eyelids pinned open.

Excited for ALL Layton's dances. That there's a winning combo!

Pleased Ellie's got her AS and paso - her showdance choice sucks though. You can't tell somebody her age wants to dance to pissing J-Lo.

Bobby and Dianne are not elegant enough to do a La-La Land medley, wtf? King of Ballroom blah blah blah.
