I'm trying to imagine, if Annabel and Johannes were in the final, would they redo the CC? It felt like a very sincere moment, very poignant and lovely. I think to repeat it would cheapen (can't think of a better word) the emotion behind it.

Bobby - I'm not sure he connected with the CC and I do feel he is quite naive in ways. My concern was for him, at the time, and still is. That he was maybe pressed into doing something that bordered on exploitation of the fact that he lost his mother, so young, for the sake of a dance competition. I'm not sure it's a great idea to repeat it.

That's true, Stace and Kev's was a steaming hot pile of garbage. To this day I do NOT understand Dooley winning.

To be fair, it was more Joe in those skinny trousers and red hair, looking like a matchstick.

Kevin thought that Showdance was the best thing since sliced bread and really hyped it up on ITT.

End result was him running frantically around gurning and she spent half of the dance shaking it like the auntie at a wedding or doing side by side stuff out of sync with him. Did he really think that high energy and lots of props would cover up the fact that his choreo that night was shite? They're VERY lucky that dance didn't cost them the win.

I feel that doing an emotional dance dedicated to a dead loved one should be a one off and not repeated in the final in a cynical bid to win.

I won't be able to watch as 'this womans work' makes me SOB and I want to be happy!

I'm rewatching S17, can any of you long standing tattlers confirm if Karim, a very accomplished trained dancer, got as much hate as Layton is getting? I'm guessing not, as the majority of the 'Layton is a professional dancer' is just thinly disguised racism and/or homophobia

Not as much. People really ripped the piss out of him always pelting down the stairs and across the floor to get to the eliminated couples first, but he didn't get as many ringer comments.

He did get a lot of hate but it wasn’t anywhere nesr as bad as what Layton is getting now.

I actually liked him tbf, but it was funny.

I thought Rhys would be Karim II but he really came into his own and his leaving speech where he called Nancy by her real name was one of the most touching things I've seen on Strictly.

I’m not sure redoing the couples choice will have much impact, it’s already been dedicated to him mum once, it will surely lose some of the emotional impact. Plus the cynic in me finds it a bit icky to re do what was meant to be a special one off tribute in the final, what better way to get votes than to pull at the heart strings

As long as they don’t pick Ellie’s samba then I think she’ll breeze to the glitterball

Going by the odds, Ellie has it in the bag even if she comes out and does Les Dennis' Rock The Boat samba.

I'd take the paso, salsa, foxtrot or even AT for Ellie. But I don't think they'll give her two ballrooms, nor want to paint her green again.

Her Foxtrot was both the moment when we said "wow, she's good!" and the moment my son fell in love with her, so I would love this one.

Like you, I don’t think it will be another ballroom so I'm still hoping for her jive - that was a moment for her and she could kill it now.
