Craig back at DWTS Australia and got out his "1" paddle - a contestant got a Quentin Willson score of 8/40 for one of the dances.

Natalie Lowe & her partner have done pretty well though!

I thought she was going to be great, and was extolling her potential all over this forum!

I based my opinion entirely on this video, and if this was the Jayde we’d got on Strictly how different it might have all been 🫤

 
There is a good interview with Rose in the Observer - mainly about her struggles to make a career as a deaf actress. But she barely mentions Gio, makes clear she is single, and talks about how the initial concept for the CC was tit and it was totally reworked 'with the help of other Strictly professionals'. #justice4arduino!
Hopefully the shippers will realise they are delulu and give up (who am I kidding?)

Hopefully if they read it, they will see that Rise got exactly what she wanted from Strictly and it wasn’t to be ‘And Rose’ to a slightly sweaty Italian with a penchant for double breasted suits.
 
If she was dancing better elsewhere, then maybe she wasn't putting in the hours at Strictly. She certainly acted like she was entitled to good scores and critique so might not have seen the effort as necessary.

Exactly! In that video she’s fun, she moves well, she’s sassy, she’s got humour and personality - I thought that combined with Karen getting the opportunity to choreograph ‘outside the box’ meant we were going to get great stuff from them.

Yeah. Didn’t quite pan out like that, did it? 😆

For anyone remotely interested in DWTS AU - Scoring was a bit bonkers and all over the place. Craig gave a few bizarrely high scores - there were a couple of celebs he gave 6s to who ended up near the top of the leaderboard, who I thought were not that much better than some near the bottom. I initially thought the producers must have told him to downplay the 'mean judge' thing, but he also gave out 1-3s, and the audience seemed to have been instructed to boo most of his comments. Interesting choice to have two mean judges on one panel.

Most surprising moment of the night - aside from an unfortunate pro falling flat on his face 10 seconds into the first routine - was Craig giving a 3 and then Mark, usually the most lenient judge, giving a 1! (The celeb had had almost zero rehearsal due to injury. There was a lot of walking and his pro spinning around him, but he gave a bloody good go at selling the character/performance aspect so I guess that's what impressed Craig.)

I fear the 8/40 scorer may survive longer than he should - a football player (male athletes almost always do well in the vote even if they move like an ironing board) and did the most impressive lift of the night which got a big cheer from the studio audience (the only ones who can vote thanks to the stupid prerecorded bullshit.) Feel sorry for his pro too. Poor woman always gets duffers, has been out first twice in 3 years and the best celeb she's ever had only made it to week 4.

I thought Natalie's celeb was very meh, haven't the foggiest what the judges saw in him or how he ended up 2nd on the leaderboard. He wasn't awful, but I was expecting him to get 4/5s, but he got a 6 and three 7s. 🤷‍♀️

No elimination the first week. I wonder who the judge with the tiebreaking vote is going to be. After Todd put mediocre men through to the final over much better women twice in the last 2 seasons, I hope it's not him anymore.

2nd group of celebs dance next week, Virginia and Ian look like they've got a very fun, campy number lined up from the preview.

I think she thought she was going to be the ‘oh, she can move’ and the ‘gosh, isn’t she brave to wear that’ one without putting a great deal of effort in and instead she was usurped by both Hamza and Tony and his sparkly shorts leaving her more and more peed off.

Think 1 was a bit harsh, he's ploddy and stiff but he knew the moves 🤣🤣

You're welcome. Some of the UK and US posters in this thread on DS seem to talk like they have access to the full show, you might be able to ask them if they know a place to stream it. I don't have a VPN but I've been able to watch full series of Strictly and ITT on Dailymotion and streaming sites. Probably a lot harder to find the Australian one, though. I can't even find clips from older seasons I missed.

He was the worst of the night, but to be fair, yeah I've definitely seen worse dancers. Anne Widdecombe and Master P come to mind. 😂 Sharna and Mark gave him 3s and Sharna smacked Craig and Todd with her paddle. 😂

Sarah James had a big birthday party full of strictly faces new and not so new at the weekend, Shirley posted a load of pics like the auntie at a wedding 🤣 how is Sarah James only 40?!
