I know someone has already posted this but I can’t find the post-
Can anyone fill me in on aprox running times fir the Professionals show? I’m going to the matinee in Brighton on Sat & want to figures out timings.

I went to see the Pro show Saturday afternoon at the Palladium. It was fab, really hi paced and also enjoyed all of the dancers getting a chance to speak to the audience. Katya was in the audience and my daughter had a selfie with her 😂. Won’t give too much away for anyone attending but they did a lovely tribute for Len.
 
With all of the discussions on CC from a few days ago, I wonder how this upcoming series will be. I'm worried that with no real casting changes (same judges, hosts, pros, just one troupe dancer replaced) and the same producer, it will be yet another run of sob stories and tit judging.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Don’t think it has much to do with casting than it does production. Although Tess, Shirley, Motsi and Anton egg it all on, one of the many reasons I’d love the four of them replaced

I don’t think it matters who the judges are, they are all playing their part. If all of a sudden they wanted less of the ‘a little bit whoo, a little bit waaay’ from Anton he would be coherent in no time. You only have to see how quickly Shirley’s teeny creepy shoe lessons were binned to realise it’s not actually what they want.

(I have added another square on my Anton bingo card for this year … any permutation of ‘Len would have said’

Shirley & Anton maybe, but I get the feeling that Motsi would be like that regardless.
 
I saw the professional tour at weekend - really enjoyed it - Karen and Vito stood out the most to me. Vito is an incredible dancer, tell he studies other disciplines. One thing I thought - they came across as equals with no one trying to steal the limelight.

I would have a liked a little shakeup in the pro lineup for this years strictly - I think they ought have not signed up Gio again - he added nothing last series, doesn’t ever seem enthusiastic to about being on the show anymore, tell it is just a pay cheque for him now. A shake up in the female line up - maybe bench Amy and either Nadiya and Dianne - give Luba another go and would say tryout Lauren.

I even thought Neil came across well he was very whitty. It was a great show.

I agree with giving Luba another go, I thought she was fantastic on the tour

I don't get why they made no changes. Other than Janette/Oti being swapped out for Nancy/Jowita, there's really been no change in the female lineup since 2017 which was one of the worst ever sets of new pros and is quite a long time ago now.

Even taking out Richie from the equation, Giovanni didn't even seem enthusiastic at the Christmas special last year.

Don't kill me for saying this - but I also think we're approaching the time for Gorka to move on. I think with 3 finals, we've seen what he can offer and he's had a decent bite of the cherry. He's always been a good choreographer but he's no longer youthful or fresh in his style.

I'd keep him but just have him stood side of stage with his top off all Night :love:
 
Next year definitely need to think about a refresh - pros and judges otherwise it goes stale (keep Craig - he is Strictly to me). As long as they keep, Vito, Nikita and Carlos. I wouldn’t mind Kai and Gio being replaced. Perhaps bench Gorka.
The females - need a shakeup next year as well. Just mix it up a bit.

Regarding judges - I'd say they'd need another Darcey type of personality to balance things out a bit (albeit maybe someone from the ballroom world). Also think they could do with a younger judge on the panel (male or female) with a modern outlook on things, perhaps an ex pro or a choreographer.

I wonder if Karen/Katya might end up having this as a last series? as both have been on the show for quite awhile.
Could also see Amy leaving which would freshen up next years lineup.
And depending on if she's still with Kai, Nadiya. I'd like Kai to stay for another couple of years but think its time to say bye to Gio & maybe Gorka
 
After a tough day, Vito has thoughtfully provided some welcome distraction 🥰

Also apparently Gio and Kai are going on to be on that Celebrity Hunted *shrugs*

I feel like it's been suggested that this could be Karen's last year for about 5 years now 😆 but as super fit as she is, dancing does take its toll on the body as you age and she does post a lot of stories about double show days killing her :unsure:
Katya, I dunno. It seemed like she was doing a fair bit of other TV last year.
Amy - blah. I don't care.
Dianne appeals to the kids.
Nadiya is needed to steer the tall lumps of wood around.
Luba's Paso was my favourite dance on the pro tour, and I agree that she was never really given a chance with her partners, but I don't think TPTB would be willing to bench one of the others to give her another shot. Same with Lauren, I would like to see what she could do with a partner, but who would be benched instead of her?

I have to say, that as much as I like Gorka, and he was as good as always on the pro tour, I did think he seemed a bit tired compared to the new boys. *runs away* 😅
