Turns out today is seven years since this Charleston managed to score that elusive 40 at Blackpool.

(There is a small moment where Danny’s dancing on the table and not perfectly in time with Oti. I remember Craig sharing on the judges’ corner that he’d decided it didn’t matter and he still gave it a 10 because of everything else. I can’t imagine the Craig of today being that forgiving!)

I think it’s this combined with the fact that he is talented and confident (although I do think some of this is bravado to hide his vulnerabilities) which people equate with arrogance and that he is a proud out gay man. I feel lots of people are hiding their bigotry behind their views about his arrogance and that they don’t think he should be on the show.

Agree. IMO there is still a lot of unconscious bias in this country.

Definitely. I was once heard some colleagues discussing the Netflix show Dahmer. This bloke was telling his mate all about it including all the gory details but whispered that he was gay. When I challenged why he was comfortable talking about torture and cannibalism but not sexuality he denied having any issues with gay people and thought I was being woke 🙄

I understand that dances are planned well in advance but it’s not like they didn’t have plenty of time to work something out. I would be fine with one in the final, that’s there they did the dance for him leaving and it’s still one of the best & memorable pro dances for me. Just thought Blackpool would have been the perfect opportunity.

When I went Anton was still a pro and was manic then running round the audience, doing jump scares. Tess and Claudia were doing some filming and had to retake as he made someone scream. Agree @Willow9999 Tess off camera is lovely and warm and Claud totters in her heels and wants to vomit.
Did they have to do any refilming?

So many mistakes in Bobby’s dance and him being dragged into the dance by the extra dancers like he's being dragged out of a nightclub. Was also funny Ellie being dragged backwards as Vito showboated.
 
I am wondering if Nigel is struggling with his and everyone else's expections, trying to avoid the 'curse' press headlines and actually being himself in front of the cameras rather than in character?
He seems like someone who can be hard on themselves and any little error that happens is letting Katya down.
