On at least 3 occasions my mother has wandered into the room while Gio's on the screen and asked me if all male dancers are gay, so make of that what you will 😂

(Also, in her expert opinion, she doesn't think Nikita 'looks the type.' Well, she didn't last year, she thinks he is now because he's dancing with Layton 😂)

I didn't watch last year, but Richie Edwards is really very annoying, so I wouldn't immediately assume he was unhappy with a same sex partnership just because he seemed irritated with him.

Unless, of course, there were other things that I didn't see.

He's 33! It's the double breasted suits that make him seem 45.
Gio just gives off such strong masc/hetero energy that I don't ever find him camp. I'm sure he's not homophobic, but I can't imagine him throwing himself into a partnership with Layton like Nikita has, who seems so secure in his own masculinity.

Think Nikita just really enjoys the creative challenge of dancing with other guys more than anything else.
 
I used to suspect Gio was gay because I thought the Maura thing seemed like too much of a set up PR stunt to not be a beard, especially with her having previously dated Curtis who has lots of gay rumours, but I don't think so anymore. I think it was a bit of wishful thinking on my part because I liked him then and didn't want to believe he was really as much of a trashy sleazebucket as he appeared, but I've since been disabused of such notions. 😂

I also don't think he's a raging homophobe or anything, but he clearly wasn't comfortable last year.

I’m not sure where you are all getting the ‘totally hetro’ vibe about Gio? He’s someone extremely comfortable dressing in drag! If you go to his tours he does a piece where he attempts to seduce a male audience member whilst dressed in a sexy outfit. His many videos as Disney princesses with Kai, the Priscilla number with Jojo. The way he is with Kai in general, they are always quite touchy feely with each other.

Live tour - I was thinking Layton, Ellie, Bobby, Angela S and Nigel. Im wondering if Zara is a possibility and that is why she was saved over Eddie - to give her another week. Eddie definitely danced better in the DO.

Vito - reminds me of friend’s husband who my friends thought was gay when we first met him - he’s just incredibly comfortable with his sexuality, isn’t a matcho man and doesn’t care about what people think of him.

Even as a woman, Kai still looks ancient,,,,if this was the old lady look he was going for, he nailed it.;)

Please tell me I'm not the only one who very childishly makes a very small fart sound whenever Angela raises her leg or does the splits?
I did the same whenever Caroline Quentin did her obligatory leg raise.
I blame the long dark evenings.

For me, no matter how much he drags it up he never seems anything less than a fully hetero man in drag (which is fine! :)). Unlike the likes of Aljaz, Vito, and Nikita, Gio has never ever pinged my gaydar. And of course the partnership with Richie didn't help. I think that even if others found Richie irritating they'd have thrown themselves into it more.

I wonder if there'll be an announcement about Amanda on ITT. Still social media silence...

Whereas I’ve been wondering if she can only lift one leg up. If I could be bothered, I’d go back and check through her dances but I can’t.
