When my now-teenager was tiny, we had to watch Chelsee & Pasha’s Shrek jive on continuous repeat. This was before the days of streaming so I lived in permanent fear of the hard drive accidentally being wiped. To this day, I know every microsecond of that dance in vivid detail. It could be my specialist subject on Mastermind.

It’s made my day that Les has at least one die-hard fan 😊

I think Angela S as well, and I would have had Amanda down previously. Maybe Annabel will want to? They also usually have a token duffer on for low points, but I'm pretty sure Zara wouldn't enjoy this role.

Ahh, I wish he would, but Lauren's off on Gio's tour, so I think he'd be less inclined without her?

Catherine the cake beg did the tour, and she went out in week 6. Max George also did it for the money, even though he went out in week 4 and didn't look like he enjoyed the Strictly experience.

Didn't Krishnan say he can't get his heart rate too high or he might drop dead? The tour might be too much for him.

And then Sarah Davis turned up with an origami craft set and a pair of spare trousers, while Aljaz temporarily relocated to Durham to do the school run for her.

As long as I live, I will never ever understand what the hell went on that year. It was INSANE.

I just watched and thought it was a beautiful dance. Why did the judges hate it so much? I am new to watching the show aha
 
All the talk of Fletch made me remember what an utter pillock he looked in his matador costume.

Interesting 👀😂 Dancers throw my gaydar.. those hips throw me off & some of them very much embrace the camp .. but I love that. I love those who are super comfortable in themselves & others of all sexualities. You just know someone like Gio really isn’t. God forbid anyone thinks he’s not a ladies man.

Vito has only publicly dated women, but who knows, he may be bi (yes, bisexuals exist! and from what we can gather, dancers are at it all the time with each other anyway..). TBH I find it hard to believe Nikita is straight too, but there ya go..
 
I always have to watch this on catch up and sometimes I don’t get to watch it all until Friday. But I do read along while I watch, so thank you for all being hilarious and insightful.

Whilst it’s quiet I would like to confess some weird and unpopular things… (and also just need to acknowledge that I am the weird since I loved Dan Walker and I don’t know why)

1) Anton’s inner bicep in the series opener did a weird thing to me that I can’t quite get over. Literally nothing has lived up to the same eroticism since.
2) I love Bobby and I find him mesmerising
3) strictly has turned me into some kind of bicep pervert (as per above) no one’s arms are safe
4) Zara’s dancing makes me think of Baby in Dirty Dancing when she’s kind of going the wrong way but trying her best all the time.
5) (I may get banned for this) I find Krishnan an absolute snooze fest. 🤐

Yeah, I'd have to think Bobby would be wanted back at Eastenders by then. It's one thing to give him time off to do the show but if he does the tour as well he'll have had 7 months off? Have any of the Eastenders cast that have been on the show done the tour while their character is still in EE?
 
The 'Aljaz going to Sara's for a sleepover after they were eliminated because her kids were inconsolable he wasn't there to tuck them in' thing will always be more insane to me than the Tom and Amy thing. At least medical reasons contributed to Amy's extended stay at the Fletchers, but what the everloving fuck was going on with the whole situation of Sara letting her kids get that attached to him, it's not like they didn't know it was only temporary?! Her niece as well, I remember her posting a story a couple of weeks maybe after the elimination about her 2-3 year old niece 'missing cuddles from Uncle Ali'

Sara and Aljaz, along with Tilly and Nikita were my faves that year, but I'm still o_O over that. Just seems quite irresponsible to have not been more careful to prepare the kids for 'Uncle Ali' to not be able to visit very often after the show finished. (Not to mention slightly bonkers to have gotten that close to begin with, but my introverted ass is trying to accept some people are really just that friendly lol)

🤣Yes poor Erin. It is also used for any pro that has checked out of the Strictly process during the series, due to bad celebs, not getting on with their partner, over it. i.e”they have booked their ticket to Erin island” probably Gio and Karen this series.
