Eddie's farewell speech was lovely, shame he didn't really fulfill his potential. Zara/Adam should be next, but hopefully not Angela S. I don't know why she hasn't clicked but she's due a big breakout number. Would love to see an Irish dancing CC!

Ellie is my favourite NDB contestant - there's something instinctively graceful about her footwork. And sweaty, puppy-like Vito is ❤‍❤‍

No idea what's going on with Karen. Her split from KFG was over 5 years ago, she moved on to new partner(s) well before he did so I don't get why it's still a factor. Sorry to hear about her latest break-up but I wish her well post-Strictly - can't see her coming back after this year though.

Lauren has been a fantastic addition to the female pro line-up. Her partnership with Krishnan is pure joy.

Looking forward to Angela R being given a party Latin, some proper critique and a ticket home after she's ejected from the Blackpool bus.

Bobby continues to give me major ick. I wouldn't miss Amanda if she withdrew but I'd hate for it to mean he got to the final at the expense of Ellie, Nigel or Layton.

One of the few genuinely funny "comedy" routines on Strictly (imo), I thought involving the singer (Haley?) was really fun, and it was Ruth's best dance imo.

I take a very dim view of anyone using ‘Zombie’ for anything Halloween-themed just on account of the title - it’s an anti-war protest song inspired by the deaths of two children, killed by an IRA bomb while shopping in Warrington.

It wouldn’t really be appropriate for a soap star dressed as an extra from ‘The Walking Dead’ to stomp their way through a crap paso whilst that horribly nasal singer screeches her way through it.

Also loved this one (yes, yes, I know he's a sleaze, but I adored him and Rose!)

I fell down a rabbit hole (a Gorka one as per usual) him and Alexandra were insane together - I don’t think they ever did a mediocre dance, their chemistry was off the charts. Their jive and Argentine tango are two of my favourite dances in strictly history. What do you think happened with them?? Do you think it was simply because he started seeing Gemma and spending time with her as speculated or was it something else?

i went down a strictly rabbit hole this evening bjt some of my favourites are so old the video quality is shit.

not an exhaustive list by any means, but:

Jill and Darren - foxtrot, paso and cha cha
Denise and Ian - quickstep
Alesha and Matt - Viennese waltz
flavia and Matt - Salsa

The older clips are so bizarre to watch now, but it really was about the quality of dance, rather than showmanship.

Have posted this before, but this is one of my favourite dances in Strictly history. Everything about it was exquisite:

No props, no theming, no faffing about and he had never danced before and was crippled with shyness at the beginning of the series. Mark was the real deal.
