Is it just me that was expecting to like Nigel but is actually finding him surprisingly annoying, just feel that he thinks he's better than he is and doesn't like criticism. With regards the other contestants, was expecting to hate Layton but actually don't mind him and don't find him anywhere near as OTT as I thought he would be (although still a ringer obviously) and had not thoughts one way or the other about Ellie and absolutely love her, glad she's able to smile after her miserable character on Corrie.

She posted an insta story this morning and tagged him in it. So I think if she had a major problem with him she wouldn't have done that.

It was the Stand up to Cancer Bake off episode; at the time he said he was rehearsing the Strictly Xmas special, hosting the podcast and in Waitress the musical on the west end at the time plus Bake off films first thing in the morning so he was knackered. He got told by the producers of Bake Off that they were going to leave out the fainting bit of the episode as it was a deemed a medical emergency and too personal to show on tv but he told them to leave it in because he found it funny and it would help raise more money for charity which it did.

I don't like Nigel as much as I thought I was going to but can't see anything superior or pointing to disliking criticism - he's pretty self-deprecating and he seems receptive to criticism tbh.

I do like Layton but he's got a journey learning he is not the main character and that partner dancing is about teamwork.

Ellie is a joy and I hope she'll go far.

I think generally all of them take criticism well but can see Amanda being the one to bite back.

Having a read through some of the strictly facebook groups and these people are hysterical 🤣 Some people are claiming Nadiya should switch from dancing with Kai and dance with Nikita instead as they have much more chemistry, and of course the obligatory AJ mention … not sure what people are watching but I actually think Kai and Nadiya dance really well together. It all kicked off on another post about Layton’s outfit as well, they really need to get a life outside of this show 😭
 
I don't find Nigel annoying, he's someone I'd describe as a 'very nice chap' and I think his attitude is good.

The only thing that needles me regarding him is that he's found that sweet spot of Strictly fans - as has been previously mentioned - women of a certain age who all fancied him in his hearthrob days, and still fancy him now as a charming mature man. And a fanciable man who can dance (but isn't lumbered with the ringer tag) is golden on Strictly and battle almost won.

Add to that, the FB Beryls love him - and the Beryl vote is a strong vote.

It won't really matter how he dances, he's safe, and I find it hard to muster a great deal enthusiasm for contestants were there is no sense of jeopardy from the offset.

I agree. He doesn't bother me but he's just too blah for me; I see him as a Kelvin Fletcher 2.0; good looking but not much in personality stakes.

If he wins it based off the wet knickers off the FB Beryl's then it just another drab predictable winner......yet again.

this is almost exactly how i feel about bobby 🤣

just more that the FB beryls think he’s a lovely young man and his mum would be so proud. and he can obviously cultivate a wide-eyed gaze in the way that only a young male contestant can get away with. the beryl vote is indeed a strong one. doubled up with the “aw isn’t he sweet” vote, he’s going all the way to the final.
