Some surprises there
 
I know it's a bit early to discuss this because we haven't seen them dance much yet, but seeing as there's no gap between the launch show and wk 1...

I reckon those more likely to be at risk are Hamza, Kaye and Ellie T - none of them look natural movers so would be more likely to lose a dance off. I think Tony will be ok because Katya will do something memorable

As much as it pains me because I ❤️ Hamza, I think him and Jowita are going to have to make their mark early to avoid first boot because neither of them are that widely known. Molly and Carlos might have a similar problem, but I think she'll have a better chance in a dance off

I think it will be Ellie T. If she got another pro, she might have had a chance of going a few weeks but given that she's an awkward mover and has Johannes, I think it's pretty much guaranteed that he'll overdance her and she won't look any good, particularly in latin. That's a recipe for disaster.

I think Kaye is out Week 3 or 4. I think she'll have a competent ballroom or two with Kai as a partner.

Hamza & Jowita seem like the 'nice' couple of the series so that could help them last a few weeks but I don't think they have enough combined fanbase or dancing ability to go further than Halloween.

I think if Kaye has week 2 ballroom (which is usually the case for older female celebs), and she's not completely terrible, she might make it through. However, if she's Susannah Constantine/Jacqui Smith levels of bad, then I don't think having Kai will make much of a difference

I reckon Ellie's charm might help her scrape through a week or 2 even if she's rubbish - stand ups are very good at playing to the audience.

I don't think it's all clear that she is an awkward mover based on 2 seconds of her promo. In the clip someone posted from Comic Relief from a few years ago she looked pretty graceful

I think it’s completely impossible to tell. We are all assuming Kaye will be awful but she could end up like Sara Davies and have a proper journey. It’s really hard to say until we have seen them all dance twice. Look at last year for example, I don’t think anyone would have had Nina down as first boot after her week 1 samba… until Neil had her do that tragic tango in week 2. Based on week 1 performances I would have had Robert Webb down as first boot, and he ended up coming back with an incredible performance the next week 🤷🏻‍♀️
 
Jayde’s instagram posts/stories the last few days have been really nice to see, seems like she’s loving the whole experience so far. I think it’s very telling that 99% of people who take part in the show say it’s the best thing they have ever done. It’s such a unique show and I think the fact that the pros/celebs always become so close probably plays a big part in how much the celebs enjoy it.

I always said if i was a celeb that strictly would be number 1 on my wishlist 😂

I’ve often wondered how I could get famous just so I could do strictly!
 
I'd love to do it if I were a celeb but would be nervous about getting a pro who I didn't like, that would be the main fear. Also think that being an uber fan of the show might be a disadvantage because you'd be treating it like a once in a lifetime opportunity that maybe doesn't live up to expectations rather than just a cool job for a few months.
 
My early bet is on Helen & Gorka considering that she likely is a journey contestant with a lot of voter appeal plus he fits the mould of recent pro winners. I wonder if he'd leave though if he got a trophy this year. I think it would be a real shame to lose him from the lineup but I'm not sure he'd have much incentive to stay.

The question mark I have over Helen is that she seems a wee bit low key in the build up, but that might just be her way - maybe her being the bookies favourite has spooked her a bit ha. Although she does seem like a very determined person in general.

I'm really interested to see how Fleur is received - she's very likeable so I wonder if she'll avoid some of the ringer vitriol. I have no idea about Vito's choreography though, apart from the boob-grabbing routine that was posted on here. I'm guessing that won't feature on Strictly 😂[ /SPOILER]
 
It does seem harder for a woman to win recently - you have to either be defo not a ringer (Stacey, Rose), seem authentic (those two), or have your ringer-dom concealed, be extremely likeable, and paired with a popular pro (Caroline). Helen might tick all those boxes, and has a real sob-story which I can imagine being brought out in various VTs. I laugh at the media stories about her shock past dance training though - she actually did the Xmas special! we can see exactly how good a dancer she was!

And of course Stacey, Rose, and Caroline were all paired with pros who hadn't won, and who were felt to deserve the win.
That is defo the case with Gorka, too

I'd be really disappointed seen as though she is the favourite going in, but wouldn't be surprised.
