Couples choice just needs it’s own week with different judges(who know what they’re talking about when it comes to hip hop etc). Combine movies and musicals or make Halloween week freestyle week (could still be spooky themed). You can’t compare a beautiful Viennese to a street dance. Then we can get rid of the sob stories (never had those in 2018 when they introduced it. Couples just got on with it like any other dance) it’s quite interesting watching the pros out of their comfort zones and doing something new.

The first couples choices were Lauren and AJ with the whole disability acceptance routine, Charles and Karen with his acceptance and one of the best CC’s still and the next week was Gio and Faye … with Faye staring mistily into the middle distance and declaiming ‘but who is Faye Tozer’ before dressing up like a Blues Brother half heartedly going to a Dia de Muertos party and whipping a plait about … it then degenerated into Graeme pretending he absolutely loved Musicals, Stacey and Kevin being a Street Fred and Ginge and Joe and Diane just bouncing some balls about.

Basically, a microcosm of CC in it’s first outing. It is what it always was :D

I’ve never heard of them. Where are the actual celebrities?” with replies including “It says who they are right here” “Google it then” “Who do you think is going to be in it? The Queen?” and then the program where they get their partners and we see them all gushing over each other and pretending they got who the “really wanted”.
And I wouldn’t change a thing 🤣

Let’s face it tho - I know anyone who was on here last year will mostly be looking forward to seeing how many times I can shoe horn #DannyMacwasrobbed into the thread tho, right?!?🤣

I always enjoy this time of year when Strictly's on the horizon vut we've not quite left Summer yet. Time to come out of hibernation lol
 
So there is drama over in the Rose/Gio FB group! Someone noticed that one of the dancers on Gio’s tour, Demmileigh, posted a throwback pic from what appears to be the hotel Gio stayed at the other day (detectives compared the bathrooms!). This has caused meltdowns, ppl slagging off Gio, slagging off Demmileigh (a ‘good-time girl’ who can never hold a candle to Rose etc..).

I find it hilarious - I don’t think it necessarily means anything and certainly not anything serious but it was exactly how Maura announced their relationship last year, breaking Ranvanni hearts. Gio certainly has a pattern! (She also looks like Maura)

I don’t mind if they keep couples choice but they 100% need to go back to how it was the first year they done it. Either street commercial, theatre jazz or contemporary. Some of my favourite dances on the show have been couples choice (ashley’s contemporary, faye’s jazz, charles street etc) so I think if they take it back to those 3 categories instead of just any old shite then it would be fine.

Oh now that someone has mentioned her, Shirley needs to go. I can’t stand the bitterness and jealousy aimed at women because they happen to be young and beautiful. It’s such an ugly trait 🤮.

The ridiculous scoring needs to be sorted as well but that goes without saying.
 
All the judges bar anton can get in the bin as far as I’m concerned. I’m sick of their attitudes especially shirls. It infuriates me they all getting six figures for sitting on their backsides for two hours week slagging off the pros choreography (I know some dances have outside choreographers) when they’ve worked for 8/9 hours a day for a fraction of amount the judges are paid.

How much the judges get paid compared to the pros is just nuts. The pros must be some of the hardest working people on TV, what with everything that is asked of them - being the best dancers, teaching for long days, being best friend/counsellor to anxious celebs

Shirley gets more infuriating by the year. Her schtick now pretty much goes:

Young male celeb: makes inappropriate comments, fans self, gives 9
Older male celeb: praise for trying, gives 8 just for making it onto dancefloor
Young female celeb: 'well, you missed this one step so I'm going to have to mark you down'
Older female celeb: makes sycophantic speech about how she's 'representing the older woman', gives 8 even though it's obviously a 4 or 5 at most
 
I wonder why the BBC persist with Shirley when it’s clear that almost everyone has trouble warming to her.

Hopefully Mark has children soon so she can move on to be a grandmother happily ever after in the US. (she said she might move back if she had grandchildren)

It’s very obvious which pros don’t like her and think almost everything that comes out of her mouth is bullshit. They of course have to pretend they all do like her and it’s all wonderful. If any of them tried standing up for themselves you just know production would replace them with a younger dancer who they can manipulate into being a polite quiet little servant to them.

What pros do you think dont like her, I always get the impression Karen doesn't but who else do you think.

Definitely Karen you can see it in her face whenever Shirley opens her mouth.

As for others… I don’t think Dianne’s that keen on her. She’s been less than complimentary at times during judging and she was a bit inappropriate about Joe. I’m pretty sure Luba isn’t really fan of her.

I do think it’s mostly the female pros but I’m not entirely sure Gorka is keen either but I kind of think Gorka is over the whole thing so no just Shirley.

Basically it’s ones where she’s slagged off choreography or insinuated that the celebs isn’t properly prepared (only case where this was semi acceptable was Katie last year who really wasn’t prepared due to lack of training time)
