TBF, if any of Karen, Dianne or Gorka were planning to leave after this year anyway (possible for all 3 IMO) then they should maybe bite back to Shirley's comments knowing they weren't planning to return for 2023 and wouldn't really be able to face consequence from the BBC. That would definitely be satisfying. Go on Gorka - I know you can do it!

But I do agree that a current pro would be putting their job in jeopardy because Shirley seems to be treated like a god by the BBC. Just need to look at how it ended for Brendan. I don't condone the use of 'my dear' in a sexist tone but his general points were right and it wasn't fair for the BBC to sack him for that. Especially when people behind the scenes apparently got on well with Brendan.
 
To be fair, Len was the same.
Anyone who he could SPORTSMAN over got a 7 for just turning up … and Aliona had the most spectacular eye rolls when he critiqued choreography. The best one was when she was on ITT saying basically she listened to what the judges said but that she didn’t particularly take it on board.
Then Len got the hump even more.
Then it was downhill from there

I don’t think they would even if they we’re planning if to leave. Unfortunately I feel they might think it would go against them for future work even if it wasn’t dance related or anything to do with the BBC. I'd love it if Karen did tell shirls and Craig where to stick it though (more than she’s alluded too In more recent years) unfortunately we wouldn’t see it.

It would be interesting if any of the current pros (more so those who’ve been there 6+ years) did a tell all post strictly.. what it’s actually like behind the scenes. There’s got be gossip and stories that are juicy.

i know they are not current pros but james and ola have done this.
 
These people really need to take a step outside and touch some grass ASAP. It’s funny how it’s only the AJ fans that have an issue with him & nadiya, everyone else seems to really like them together and isn’t arsed about the articles etc 😂 One of them was claiming that they had to unfollow Kai as they couldn’t stand the “loved up” pictures he’s posted with nadiya, as if they wouldn’t have been loving it if it was AJ in her place 😭 Not sure what they mean by “not doing him much good” because from what i’ve seen Kai was gaining more support with every tour date that passed and will continue to do so as the new series begins. I hope he gets a ringer and never mentions AJ’s name again just to spite these clowns.

I find it hilarious - I don’t think it necessarily means anything and certainly not anything serious but it was exactly how Maura announced their relationship last year, breaking Ranvanni hearts. Gio certainly has a pattern! (She also looks like Maura)

The daily DM articles about them are excessive, but Kai has posted 3 grid posts with Nadiya since April, he's hardly losing his identity. Although looking at their matching outfits last night, it might be going that way 🤪

He needs to just “be himself”. It’s beyond creepy how they really think they know these people. Kai probably can’t believe his luck that he’s bagged Nadiya!

Also, support AJ how and why? They were paid to work together and dupe sex starved lunatics for votes and now they’ve moved on. Remember they thought Kai was going to be her primary carer after her injury and piggy back her to and from appointments? Bonkers.
 
Most of the time I don't mind Shirley, but there are definitely a few times she's annoyed me, or her comments just plain made no sense.

I thought the way she treated Charlotte Hawkins was horrible. Sure, she wasn't great, but they really seemed to pick on her unfairly. She only had the one real disaster but they (especially Shirley) gave her harsh criticism on all her dances. Her tango really wasn't too bad (and I still think Brendan was right in that argument) and then her last dance. You could see her confidence was completely shot and she didn't want to be there anymore after she'd improved the previous week and still got 'well it was a little bit better, but it's still not good enough, try harder' feedback. And even though she didn't make any mistakes in her jive, Shirley was still so rude and condescending. When she forgot her name, omg! Like, anyone could accidentally say the wrong name, but the tone she called her 'Molly' in was so nasty, I half-think she did it on purpose. I felt so bad for Charlotte, especially because her jive seemed better in the rehearsal footage than it ended up being on the night, and I'm sure Shirley being so un-encouraging was part of the reason.

Shirley seemed to disagree with Craig just to disagree with him on John's rumba. Disclaimer - I know hardly anything about dance, but it seemed to me that Craig was right that John's rumba could have done with just a little bit more resistance (or whatever he said, can't remember exactly, but I remember thinking 'ah, yes, I couldn't put it into words but that's exactly what I was thinking too) and Shirley was all snootily like 'I completely disagree with Craig, don't know what he was watching, it was perfect,' and eh... can't say I agreed. I don't think Neil and Katya did either. Of course I could be totally imagining it, but the next shot was of them in the audience and I thought they looked a bit 😐
 
Got to admit, I get a childish little bit of glee at the thought of the nuttiest of the KJ shippers getting their hackles up every time Kai dares to post a photo with Nadiya. You'd think he was personally coming to their houses and banging her on their couch the way they complain about him shoving their relationship in their faces! 😂

I agree. I can only assume it's some sort of producer-mandated weirdness, to ensure a diverse range of feedback from the judges. I often forget she's even a ballroom dancer, her critiques are so inane, I always think of her as a non-dancer and have to remind myself she's not. Obviously they can't have the judges all just saying the same thing, but they should have a more balanced lineup of judges, rather than trying to turn a technique judge into a 'wow, such story, much energy, very passion' judge.

It's infuriating that they're targeting Nadiya for no reason at all other than she doesn't fit in to the fantasy world of their own creation. They were quite happy to like her when she was partnered with Dan - it's only when she shattered the illusion that they decided she's a fame hungry Machiavellian scarlet woman.
 
Nadiya’s so beautiful. That’s all I really have to say on that, what a babe.

Gifted hotel stays is such a classic Gio way to romance a lady, I love him if only for his comedy value. Presumably she can also look forward to free Zumba classes, Hello Fresh meals and any other old shite he’ll plug for cash 🤣

And meals out at Gola. Many many Gola meals
