I find it hilarious that a partnership can withdraw, skip several weeks, be voted back into the final and then win. Sums up the batsh*tness of the Italian show though it's been entertaining to follow for sure.

A 54 year old female celeb winning though is pretty cool, never had that on Strictly.

Good on Pasquale! Vito, Arduino, and Gio were urging people to vote for him. That Luisella looks amazing for 54.

It may have been totally exaggerated (likely with the tabloids), but the ‘snogging loads backstage’ made me cringe a bit. There’s nothing wrong with getting together with someone at work but like, try and behave a bit professionally.
I’m particularly looking at Gio in this, as he’s older and more experienced at working at Strictly, but also because he had a generally unprofessional season in how he treated Richie (yes I’m still mad about it!).

Whilst Gio's a dick, I'm not sure the difference between 28 and 32 is really worth mentioning.

To be honest, I’d not bothered to look it up- I presumed she was about 25/26. I wasn’t trying to imply anything bad about Jowita, more that Gio has been on the show for 8 years and in tv/the spotlight during that time, whereas she’s relatively new to it all, particularly as a single woman in the spotlight.

The 'they heart each other's SM messages' and 'they did a steamy dance routine' lines are exactly the nonsense that had the Rio shippers wetting themselves for months about a non-existent romance.

I'm actively bored of Gio. He's had a great run and created some fab routines, but this year was a massive damp squib and I'm not really interested in seeing him suddenly perk back up when he gets a new partner he feels could get him to the final - or alternately, frost over again with a perceived 'duffer'.

I sort of think, when they've been on the show a number of years and finally got their win, it's sort of like, where else is there to go after this? I've seen enough of him now.

Perhaps the criteria needs to change that once they've had a win they leave the show to make way for new pros....I think in Gios case he's had his win, ticked that box and he's lost his drive. What is there to aim for once you've won ?!

Good to see Gemma has shut down the Gorka rumours ...he's not going anywhere! Why would he ?

I'm extremely happy Gorka isn't going anywhere 😊😊☺️

But also this - in the current climate it does seem a bit risky to ditch your main source of income. I know the pros are much more well off than most, but they still have outgoings (and a Rolex habit to sustain in Gio's case). But if you're no longer a Strictly pro, then your chances of making much money touring are dramatically reduced. Which makes me think if Aljaz had stayed on another year, right now he would probably consider sticking around a bit longer still
 
Surely if Gio and Jowita were snogging all over the place Hamza and others knew about it? He may be a pure cinnamon roll but I am sure he's no fool.. I am sure they will stay friends.

Reading LadyLav's breakdown of the Ballando finale - it is so bonkers how they do it! One of the factors they use to call the winner is social media likes (!)- the other couple were way ahead on those but apparently the jury decided thousands were bots and randomly disqualified them, as they wanted Pasquale's partner to win?! and it's never clear how much weight the public vote has versus judges' votes! Can you imagine that here?! As if Tess read out that Helen had won the public vote but they'd decided it shouldn't count.

Italian twitter and insta are full of angry comments about Pasquale and partner. I wonder if Pasquale will ever make the leap to SCD - maybe if Gio leaves, but I also think he's probably missed the boat, having now done too many different versions...
 
Some of these pros have lost the run of themselves eg Gorka and Gio. Even if they both leave the show will go on. There will be new Vito type guys joining to spice it up
The press will be watching michael jowita’ s ex on DTWSIRL now. I might get tickets to be the tattle spy onset to report if he is snogging soneone between dances ....

The thing is over the past couple years the show have hired some amazing new pros - Nikita, Vito, Carlos, Nancy and I think Michelle and Lauren have great potential. It only highlights how the older pros who’ve been there a while become a bit dry and stagnant. I like Gio and Gorka etc but they’re not giving me anything I haven’t seen from them before.
 
I didn't think there were any romantic feelings on Hamza's part, but more that the intensity of the Strictly bubble was maybe more amplified for him as it was so far removed from his usual working life. It must be a bizarre experience for anyone, let alone a guy who spends weeks on his own in the wilderness

And yeah, if Gio and Jowita have been a thing for a few weeks or months, then no doubt he would have known about it already
