Some really horrible comments about Hamza out there at the moment. Helen fans seem to be the worst for it.
How could anyone say anything nasty about Hamza? He's not the most exciting of contestants but he is just so lovely 🥲

On a similar note, Fleur is actually an incredible human being with amazing compassion and kindness but her true character doesn't seem to come across on the show. Same for Kym. I think the producers spend too much time on showcasing their personalities on socials when the celebs and therefore the "story" of the season would fare much better if they did more of that kind of thing on the actual show. Back in the day we used to see so much more of their personalities in the interactions with judges or on the VTs (I'm glad they stopped doing all the really cheesey tit on the VTs though)

It's difficult to warm to the personalities if we're literally just seeing them talk about how hard every dance is and not being shown any of the wobbles or laughs they have in training.

Jesus this is turning into a longer comment than intended. But remember when Kara Tointon was on it and they showed clips of her storming out and everything. Much more engrossing!

It's addictive though, in the spoiler vacuum! Like Will and Nancy haven't posted but maybe they don't anyway on a Saturday night/Sunday am? Fleur has posted nice stuff from yesterday - would she do that if she were out (but then Dianne did that when she'd been knocked out). *slowly reaches for tinfoil hat and composes DS post*
Soccer...please, for the sake of your mental health, slowly step away from DS! 😂

Yeah, I think the people who follow Fleur and Vito on insta and see all their stories see their great relationship, and likewise Vito is a star on the Strictly socials - but that is probably a small part of the viewers. I've seen people say they've only warmed up to the pairing in the last few weeks and I don't think the producers have really done a great job showcasing any of the couples' stories on the show, beyond a bare 'Hamza is nice and shy'; 'Molly has friends from stage school'.. etc

I will never understand the mentality of having to hate on everyone else who isn't your favourite. Especially in the context of a light-hearted Saturday night entertainment show where everyone on it seems to get on like a house on fire. It's hardly life or death, high stakes stuff
And just being on the show seems to be a career boost … a lot of the people who didn't win have gone on to have pretty good post-Strictly work

Yes, exactly. They really messed up somewhere. I've no doubt if they focused more on showing us who they are on vts etc it would be a much less flat season.

Absolutely. I think all five will do well out of this in various ways.

Similar with winners of X Factor and the likes. The ones who didn't win often seemed to go on to success in their careers.

There was me thinking this year has been relatively drama free and DS is a absolute bin fire right now ☹️

I'm a Helen fan but how anyone could be nasty about Hamza is beyond me. He's a sweetheart ❤️
They got rid of showbiz and politics ( the most popular threads) thinking that would get rid of the dross, but predictably they just migrated over to other threads and they lost loads of others who foundation be bothered to post there!

If Will wins, literally everyone else in the semi finals ( or even the Quarter Finals would have been robbed
Well, he’s actually more than likely ahead on points over Helen.

As much as he is a mardy bum, he has been top of the leaderboard for the last 2 weeks, so you can kind of see where he could get the impression he’s better than he is … and as fab as Nancy is she’s not likely to let on she thinks he’s been over marked (If, indeed, she does).

I am still puzzled at Will getting basically no critique for weeks, topping the leaderboard with two mediocre-ish dances and then *suddenly* the heel turn from the judges. What was with that? why not critique him fairly and marvel at his 'journey'??

I know. It’s bonkers. There were obvious flaws (bum sticking so far out you could balance a cup of coffee on it for one) with the foxtrot but a bit of a ee-mote-ing reach and grab and all is forgiven. Obviously being strangled with a cape doesn’t give the same pathos.

And why did Shirley decide to give a paso lesson when it’s obvious to a blind man and his deaf dog that Will ain’t going near the paso again and not only that, there are no more male paso’s to come. 🤷‍♀️
