That's why the current West End production is so refreshing - none of the dancers wear black and the costumes are all bright, garish, unpretty and somewhat mismatched (well, at first anyway but NO SPOILERS) Seems a shame that costume have overlooked the look of a show many viewers might go and see to hark back to the film everybody already knows.

No Sondheim is a crime! And no, Gilkisson, West Side Story doesn't count because you've flogged that dead horse beyond flogging.

it’s incredible! was lucky enough to see it with eddie redmayne but would love to go back and see it with the current cast. like you say, the staging is a masterpiece.

there is so much in that sondheim back catalogue that would make for great routines. and this year would have been the ideal opportunity to do it! the choices are so lazy.

Richie is like 'I texted Gio to say congrats but it says 'number not recognised'? odd!'

Nicola and Gio should win this but we will defo hear 'there's something missing, he's lacking the #softness he had last year!'

Also, Cameron, hun: is your CV up-to-date?

I feel like ordinarily Nicola and Gio would be an obvious win (and I like her and think their waltz will be good) but I can’t see him winning the year after the main show so I’m leaning towards Kai winning to avenge last year and first boot this year. I’d love to say Luba but I just don’t see it 🙁

Kevin won the Christmas special the year after winning the main show, and that completed his collection of Strictly trophies. Giovanni might be wanting to do the same before he leaves.
