He also once locked Amy in a room with Katya's dog when Amy had a real fear of dogs as a hilarious prank. He sounds exhausting

That's horrifying! I've been fairly neutral on Neil I respect the fact that he's a highly skilled dancer even if I do find his personality tiresome but the stories shared over the last day has tipped me over to outright dislike.
His 'pranks' come across as a fight for dominance as @glasgow27 mentioned it's always younger pros. At 40, and a mostly benched pro surely he must be close to be retired by the bosses?

I find it interesting his GF is only 23, he's not much different to Max George in that respect.

I have been fairly neutral too. I am only a relatively recent viewer of Strictly so didn't know very much about him.

I think what has been unwittingly revealed by what should have been a light hearted quiz will backfire on him, and I hope it does.
None of the things mentioned are even vaguely funny and 'pranking' should be something he left behind as a child.

Vladimir Putin did this to Angela Merkel as an intimidation tactic during a meeting - brought his big gods in when he knows she is afraid of dogs.
That’s his level is it? Awful thing to do.

Neil sounds like one of those men who has a Twitter account called some variation of basedputin, who’s up at 3am tweeting “Triggered much? 😂😂😂😂 #facistbbc” to Angela Rayner.

I don’t mind Neil, but it’s bang out of order to find out someone’s fear, then force them into a position of confronting it. If he locked me in a room with a snake, he’d become snake food after he let me out. He must rate his driving too, to take someone’s car keys and move their car. Just as well he didn’t cause an accident

It's odd as he is clearly fairly popular among the pros despite all this, and with the bosses or they would have just let him go. He must have something going for him - I imagine the pros are like a family and they just accept most of his nonsense with an 'Oh Neil!' eyeroll. I guess being a former World Champion buys him some respect, and maybe Katya has papered over the cracks for him too.

but yeah, drop him!

With Katya joining the panto on Sunday 18th December, that must mean the show finishes on Saturday 17th. I had hoped for a Christmas Eve finish for the 20th year but there’s a lot going on then

Bloody hell the pros' stamina is something else! I suppose she wouldn't have booked it if she thought she had a finalist on her hands but you can never be sure with the British voting public 😅

That's just outright disgusting, sounds like he actually gets pleasure out of it. I can't fathom why you'd ever want to lock someone in a room like that. It's bullying - poor Amy.

Does being a world champion protect him? Because he has a crappy sense of 'humour', crappy choreography, bizarre personality, seemingly can't teach and doesn't have the looks for TV either. Considering all of that and the fact he's old for a dancer, I can't fathom why the show keeps him on. It's worrying if any young dancer looks at him as a role model.
