fully agree on everything, especially will. i don’t know if i am just deeply cynical at this point and i know the emotion was real but it also seemed deeply rehearsed with all his looks up after the dance, the way he had to throw in the mention of his kids etc…. kym was upset too but it didn’t come across as anywhere near as calculated as he did.

i watched hamza again this morning and they’re hugely out of sync at points. i did think that jowita (as fabulous as she is) went a little fast whereas he was staying on the groove of it, but understandable if it’s a new dance for her!

helen’s comments after the dance (“you want me to walk over there, on my own?”) completely summed up her mood during the dance for me 🤣 she looked scared, though the lifts were great.

Agree re Will. I understand that the song meant a lot but I'm afraid I thought he milked it especially with the ending, standing gazing upwards. That and reassuring the 'kids'.

it made obviously genuine emotion come across as deeply rehearsed, and absolutely like he was milking it. he ensured to do the gazing up again when he was with tess and brought his kids up when the whole conversation had moved on and nancy had tried to lighten the mood. not for me, and of course not the first time he’s done it either.

And he spends too long trying to be humourous...I want to hear his critique about the dance not have him regurgitate another dated boring story about Ann Widcombe!
I liked his critique the past two years because it actually explained how they could improve and was useful advice.
But this year he's got worse and worse. Trying too hard to be a big personality and funny. For me he's just becoming rude and OTT.
And don't get me started on the inflated scoring.

😂 I just think the results show is so drawn out and pointless. They could easily do it later on Saturday night and condense it down to about 15 minutes 😂
Agreed! I understand it at the start of the series when there's so many contestants because that would be a marathon on a Sat night. But why can't they just do what DOI do? They film the skates, open the vote for a short time and then do the discussion with the judges and the guest act stuff and then do the results. That's over at a reasonable enough time.

Just catching up and all I can say is that I found the occasional camera zooms onto Nikita the most inspiring and vagina-fluttering moments of the show.

Will’s sob story just made me mutter into my bereft Nikita-less cup of coffee. Staged.

When concentrating on doing a job and doing it well, as let's be frank they are all being paid for doing this dancing, why bring such emotional baggage to your job?

Anybody who has lost a parent is something that you never get over, but deal with it somehow, whatever way you can. This quiet sobbing is all very relatable, however taking it to your day job and making a whole evening of it is not what people want to watch on a saturday night entertainment programme.

Sorry for seeming harsh, at times when you are tearing up at personal thoughts you have to absorb this emotion, rather than pile it onto someone else and make them feel uncomfortable.

edit: Helen must be feeling dreadful at times, have we ever seen her play the emotional card, even when Gorka tried to put it out there she was not amused. Strength, fortitude in particularly difficult times for her, playing on it may bring her some votes but she is not having any of it. Kudos to her.

It seems to happening every week now - very unfair and unsettling for the others. Cynical gamesmanship for votes. The dance itself - at no time did I feel that he led Nancy he was simply matching her - it was waltzing by numbers.

Am I missing something about Hamza’s couple’s choice?? It was completely out of sync. I love him as much as the next person and it could’ve been amazing but if it was anyone else out of sync like that there would be uproar and definitely no 10s
I was really disappointed in his dance last night and I'd been really looking forward to it. Jowita completely outdanced him but it wasn't her fault. Such a shame they didn't get Oti in to choreo that one because it could have been epic.

A friend of mine who is ‘interested’ in Hamza (she lives in Ardnamurchan where his parents live, but moved in when grown up so doesn’t know them, or Hamza) claims he’s married and a wedding ring can very obviously be seen on his showreel, online. Maybe he’s just what he seems, a humble, private guy.

I actually agree that his technique, rhythm and the laid back style of the dance was right but Jowita was going ahead. She was amazing, of course but for her it was completely new so understandable she was a bit fast and exaggerated.

yep. as said above kym was genuinely upset too, but there wasn’t the same level of moves to it. she was upset, she acknowledged she was, claudia prodded her, graziano was a gentleman and a great partner and moved it on. will just seems to always want the attention to be on his upset, or certainly wants people to be aware of it, which is strange to me. it could equally be just how he is in general, but on a show like this it does immediately come across as cynical.

same! i thought he kept in the slow groove pocket of the music perfectly, jowita just (understandably for a latin dancer doing a new style) kept on beat instead and so got ahead of him because she was too fast.

I think it would have been more effective if they didn't do side by side "synced" choreography. Would have been more authentic and would have disguised the differences.

Personally I thought he danced it perfectly and with the natural cool rhythm that it should be danced. It was jowita who was too fast.
I've always believed for any couple (over the years) when the pro outdances or makes the mistake it shouldn't be marked down for the celebs.
I get that the judges generally have to mark the partnership of the dance but...

I've also seen too many couples dances without mistakes, but the dance is just average. However they're overmarked by the judges because it's a CC or there's an personal emotion behind A dance (Tyler, Jayde..) and that is unfair too

yes!! absolutely this 🙌🏻 The judges really ruined last night for me. It just felt like if you put yourself out there and danced something complex with risk of a mistake etc, they came crashing down on you yet Tyler - as Craig perfectly said - stormed from pose to pose - why should he have scored the same as Ellie?! I loved the show overall but got to the point last night where I was trying to think of what an alternative to the ‘judges score’ could be as their narrative felt staged and wrong.

Sean Walsh’s ex ought to be mortified. She is still going on years later tweeting abuse links, I’d be embarrassed if I looked how she did and got cheated on with a hot Russian dancer too but that’s life

If I were a celeb I would just say 'I'm dancing to a song that means a lot to me' and leave it at that. When Claudia poked me to cry I'd just change the subject. The public just don't like it.

So, Tony must have alerted the Producers that he was unable to dance again as the main show finished so they had at least 30 mins to prep for how to play it. I reckon they told all the contestants that Tony was unable to dance and that, if they were voted in the dance off, then they would get through automatically. That way, you get the genuine reaction of Tyler being in the bottom two but no confusion over whether the dance off is taking place or not. I reckon they either padded it out with a pro dance they had waiting or just cut it short and left that problem to the BBC schedulers to find something short to fill the gap.

I know this is a recurring theme, but can we talk again about the awful female singers and the murdering of the Whitney Houston song!!!

I'm now at the stage where you look at the weekly song choices and pick out which ones are going to make your ears bleed!!!

I don't know, I think she's doing a grand job in the circumstances - Helen's technically very good and seems to manage some very advanced stuff but just looks way more comfortable doing the 'jolly' type dances than the sexy ones. Last week showed she can get rid of the nerves and *perform*

No doubt the background stuff going on is tough though but I'm kind of in awe at how she isn't letting it affect her for the most part
I seen a recent interview where she said she struggled with the actual physical closeness of the dancing, and trusting Gorka with it! Which, given her circumstances is completely understandable and you can see she's much less comfortable with the 'sexy' dances...

this did happen in Drag Race this week though!
A surprise non-elimination? I’m pretty hung up that there’s only going to be 3, just because I think Will will get to the final and it could be at the expense of two decent people instead of one.

I think it’ll be a Will (😩), Helen, Hamza final and I also think Kym, Molly and Fleur could get there too on the strength of their dances last night for Molly and Fleur and Kym’s other dances. And I felt the final last year was lacking due to AJ’s injury
