I wonder if Strictly is often so intense for those that get the whole way that although they enjoy the dancing the thought of going back to it in a more chilled way is a bit much if that makes sense? My friend trained for and ran a marathon after being a casual runner for a while before and said afterwards she just couldn’t face running again even in a low key way.

I can’t remember where I heard/read it but someone said a week learning a dance on strictly day in, day out is equivalent in time to a year’s worth of weekly dance lessons all crammed in one go. I hadn’t thought of it like that.

I was thinking last night too while watching ITT, having cameras in the training rooms is another added pressure, imo.
I don't know if they are on constantly or what the story is but it must take a bit of getting used to while trying to learn a dance.

Wasn't Kai and Aj's rhumba last year for his dead gran?
Just dance- doesnt need to be about anybody or for anybody every bloody time

Exactly a dance can just be a dance.

Kai has a bit of a habit for dead relative Rhumbas, on DWTS he did a Rhumba dedicated to his celebs dead dad, which I thought was because she was really young and he/they felt awkward but now I'm thinking it might be his USP. 😬

Would there actually be a clause in her CBBC contract that forbids her from doing a sexy rumba? I remember last year there was speculation that Rhys couldn't do sexy dances because of his job, but it also might have been due to religious reasons? 🤷‍♀️

If there is that seems bloody ridiculous. Especially to take it so far that the dance isn't even romantic.

Even in America, who I would expect to be more uptight, last year JoJo and Jenna did a few sexy dances, even though she's only 18, and the majority of her fans are 10.

If this was the case I wonder why they bother doing a rumba in the first place? Its never one thats particularly impressive when the celebs do it but then to remove its whole “vibe” just defeats the point. And as far as I’m aware the pros can opt in/out of being given a rumba

I guess it's because Carlos loves the rumba. I didn't watch ITT yesterday but apparently the dance is looking pretty good and not NOT sexy, if you know what I mean.

Also Molly has worn some pretty revealing outfits out and about - I can't imagine the BBC care that much about her image beyond the not disgracing herself or doing topless stuff probably.
It may be her/the show preference to pigeonhole her as 'young' as a contrast with the other women..

It’s strange because even for the ones that get to the final there are going to be undone dances … sit it easily have been sidestepped if they were that bothered about itn🤷‍♀️

Exactly. It seems like a dumb idea. I think sometimes the pros can't opt out of things though. Some things are clearly forced on them (like the Couple's Choice horrors Molly and Carlos and Sara and Aljaz endured) and AJ wanted to skip a Samba with Saffron because he'd gone home on one the previous two years, but the producers wouldn't let him and it sent him home again.

Anyway, I don't see what the big fuss is about letting a children's entertainer do a sexy dance on a show that isn't related to their regular job. I can think of two children's entertainers who've done the Australian one who did sexy dances - they both did rumbas, sexy salsas, and one did a 50 Shades of Grey-themed Viennese Waltz - and sure, there were VTs about it how challenging it was to act something so different from what they're used to, but they just joked about how confused their 5 year old fans would be, then got on with it. 🤷‍♀️

If Molly can't/doesn't want to do it, whether because of her job or just because she's not comfortable, it would make more sense to just skip it. Or at least do a romantic one, like Sara and Aljaz's, instead of this weird parent dedication thing. I really hope it doesn't send her home.

I have to say i’m really enjoying the fact that the competition is so open this year! There’s Hamza & Helen who are the obvious two for the final but apart from them it could genuinely be anyone. As much as I loved last years series I don’t enjoy it as much when there’s a clear winner and clear finalists from the very start, it’s not as enjoyable to watch when you know exactly who’s going to leave every week and who has no chance of making the final. Apart from Fleur (sadly) and maybe Tony it really does feel like any of the remaining celebs could grab a spot in the final.

Even with that final two it could be either of them who wins it. Helen is a great dancer, has a storyline and also has a likeable/popular pro who has narrowly missed out on the glitterball multiple times, but Hamza is just on another level in my opinion. Looking at the dances they both have left as well I would say Hamza has the perfect mix of crowd pleasers but also traditional dances that the audience seem to really connect with, this might be what wins it for him.
