A Rumba about her parents? Ugh. Will we ever see anything from her that isn't saccharine and smiley? I'm sure Molly is genuinely a nice person but she's of zero interest to me as a personality.

Feels like a waste of Carlos as well when he was hyping himself up as the Rumba king.

The DS dance experts can be quite interesting to hear from but they do seem to take a dislike to a lot of pros. I think they forget it's an entertainment show so I always roll my eyes when they give suggestions on what the show should be like, if it was run their way, it would be cancelled.

Yeah, they're always saying things like 'everyone should do the same Latin or ballroom dance in a given week, and maybe if you get to the final you're allowed an AT or Charleston, as a treat'.

I know that makes sense from a technical point of view, to develop the requisite skills, but who TF wants to see six Foxtrots danced poorly in week 2??

i think the thing they forget is that, especially these days, the pros really aren’t teaching the celebs to dance. In the main, they are teaching them enough to fake a 90 second routine. Of course, some might pick up more technique than others (possibly having a background in learning other routines and a knowledge of other dance styles might help there) but I’d bet if you put any of the celebs with another non-pro dancer, out some music on and said … right, now cha-cha they would look terrified and ask where the banquet table/flower shop/big gold cannon was.

Yeah, there's a difference between learning by rote then obediently repeating it on command, and actually understanding the fundamentals of the dance and all the moves in order to successfully dance something under their own steam. Perfectly understandable, of course.

There's only a couple celebs I think have done the latter. Ashley Roberts I think could have cheerfully choreographed a Charleston by Week Two and all ballroom and Latin herself by Week Eight of the competition. She was great.

And even non ringers can do it sometimes, I'll always remember Anton caught between pride and bafflement at teaching Katie Derham how to do the Viennese waltz, and her picking it up so quick they were able to essentially freestyle the latter half of the routine on the night. What a dance that was.

To be fair, the final of series 6 with 3 was a slog

it’s difficult - I think there should be some flow to the dance order. I remember the likes of Ian, Matt and even Anton saying that it’s best to have structure to the way the dances go. i remember them saying that the rhumba shouldn’t really be done before the Cha Cha because basically it’s just the Cha Cha slowed down. I think the dance order this year for some celebs has really highlighted that … Tyler not having a traditional ballroom until week 7 on the back of 3 boppy side by side dances really did Him no favours.

i remember Alesha and Matt both completely blanking out on their Foxtrot and Matt just saying to Alesha ‘follow me’ … and no one actually knew half of it was just made up on the spot And it getting 4 9’s:D

I still think Molly's rumba will get high marks and probably enough to keep her safe.

This pic Gio posted of Katya's feet is  . The pros really put themselves through it! I find her repeated assertions that nobody wants to date her baffling - surely there is one nice man or woman out there?? Or maybe she's looking for another Neil??

as someone attempting to date (though admittedly i don’t look like katya or have her abs) can confirm that there are very few nice men out there 🤣 i can sympathise!

It makes me laugh when people say that a celeb could now be a pro dancer on the show. Particularly when Joe Slug's fans were saying it.

It's interesting how few continue to dance after being on the show and not in a Tom and Amy way. I know Michelle went to lessons for a while and Alex went with her. And Lauren Steadman still goes Salsa dancing but I think she might have done that before going on the show.

uughh the Daily Fail are already paping Katya leaving rehearsals and linking it to Seann. Even though I have said they wasted Katya on Tony this week I'm glad, he knows what it's like to have bad press and it constantly being returned too hopefully he's able to offer her some support.

I wonder if Strictly is often so intense for those that get the whole way that although they enjoy the dancing the thought of going back to it in a more chilled way is a bit much if that makes sense? My friend trained for and ran a marathon after being a casual runner for a while before and said afterwards she just couldn’t face running again even in a low key way.

I can’t remember where I heard/read it but someone said a week learning a dance on strictly day in, day out is equivalent in time to a year’s worth of weekly dance lessons all crammed in one go. I hadn’t thought of it like that.
