Nice to see Luba on It Takes Two! Hi Luba! Hope you get a partner next year!

However the very precarious positioning of the poppy on Luba's black gauze frill has me worried for it if she's going to be dancing.

Might go flying off into the audience if she shimmies too hard, and then the Daily Mail will feel they have the legal right to hang her at Tyburn as a dangerous foreign traitor, feels like the sort of thing the Daily Mail likes to do.

Gio’s posted another awful #ad from his kitchen 🤣

Last year: couple’s choice
This year: peddling ugly shirts on Instagram

I know they’ve got to make hay while the sun shines, and I know that one of the perks of being a Strictly pro is that it’s a springboard to other earning opportunities, but all of the ads and low-rent tours are starting to feel a bit ‘icky’.

I’m surprised the BBC haven’t clamped down on how much additional promotional stuff the pros are allowed to do during the period in which they’re still contracted to the current series.

i really like vito but i fully agree that i think he might go into trying too hard mode (and we’ll get something like their jive again!) - he is a glorious dancer and that clip is 🔥 but i think he does have something to learn still about restricting his own abilities.

the samba is probably my least favourite dance (with one or two routines as exceptions). same with the cha cha cha. i think i just don’t get what they’re supposed to be 🤣
They're my two least favourite dances on Strictly too but I was just watching that clip and the difference the proper music makes is unreal. Maybe the reason its off-putting on the show is because they're mashing it with an inappropriate chart hit.

Well they can't promo dance related stuff under contract to BBC so any other old naff shite is all they are allowed to do.

ITT- Enjoyed watching behind the scenes of the music producer, talent.
Diana - discussing height differences after prompt from Janette and not getting the ridiculousness of her height woe.
Love Luba!

Just watched a youtube video of a theatre fan/critic who went to see Strictly ballroom the musical and he said the show started 15 minutes behind schedule due to some strictly pros coming in late to their seats; perhaps Kai and Nadiya who went to see it recently???

The show was apparently not good as well he give it 2 stars. :sneaky:

i saw it and the show itself is great but kevin and maisie are both woefully miscast (people who have seen the film will understand why!) - i would say two or three stars was fair because the staging and the dancing is excellent.

Being quite small myself I can kind of understand why the height would have caused slight issues she did talk about how the height/hip difference made the leg moves more difficult to do in their dance

Janette also prompted her to clear the air over Shirley referring to dianne with a similar but not correct name.

I'm more interested about the broken nose scare if I'm honest 🤔

He said Kevin was good but he doesn't have that much to do in it character wise expect be a good dancer. He said Maisie was decent, she has a good voice but you can tell she needs more vocal training.

From the review I got that its more of a show you will love if you really love strictly come dancing and dance shows in general then a full on musical theatre fan.

Interesting ITT segment shock! I have actually always wondered what music they use in rehearsals if it's a slightly different arrangement to the original. And now I know. Please more BTS stuff like this

Not Dianne going on about the height difference again, while tall, benched Luba is right there in the studio with them 😬

(I know it was Janette that brought it up, which is even more baffling that the show want to use it as a talking point - discussing Tyler's torches again might be slightly less awkward)

Janette brought up the question about the height difference so what could she do but I actually saw this comment on the DS of someone who knows about ballroom latin dancing who actually said its a valid point about the height difference:

''The male must keep to his left, same as lady. So simply male's head looks where he is going, vaguely looking over ladies arm, in the elbow region. On the forward step into the natural turn, he drives through the ladies legs, but the lady is moving backwards, both in a contra body position, to accommodate each other. Tyler is dancing into Diane, rather than into his own space, past his partner. A male pro would lower in the legs to be nearer the height of the lady.''

With each dance theres always going to be something not 100% not right and I think its just one of those things that wasn't quite right as he was focusing on all the other fundamentals in the dance. If he lowered his legs his frame might have suffered more so it is what is. I'm sure they'll take it on board for the next ballroom dance.

This is what I find a wee bit awkward - that's it's a production decision to use it as a talking point and highlight the issue when production paired them together in the first place

Yeah true; it's not like Tyler is professional dancer so he can sort of work his way around it and I'm sure Dianne was trying to teach him all the fundamentals and if they focused more of him going to his legs to bring him closer to her height then his frame could have suffered. I do think a bit of leniency is needed in all mis matched height couples.

Just watched it, not really a great review!

I agree that it's the producers fault for the mis matches height wise this year but I don't think there should be leniency because of it. Tyler and Dianne are not the only ones who are being done over because of the height thing, James and Amy, Tony and Katya and obviously Ellie and Nikita (there could be more but they're the ones that stick out). Thing is, you could argue a case for leniency for a lot of different reasons, someone being older, someones work schedule etc. It's what they all signed up for and with the majority of male celebs being taller this year this was bound to happen, better choices could have been made when it came to pairings so it wasn't so bad though. Dev handled the height difference better than Tyler is imo.
