Back from the cinema - how were the dances tonight? Anything worth watching?

I guess if he was FaceTiming AJ on NYE that indicates they were really good pals. Then there was definitely a cooling-off when he did the tour with Nadiya and the fact that they haven't been pictured together even when at the same event tell a story.
When will those Strictly insiders write their tell-all book??

I reckon Kai was just being decent. Aj was stuck at home injured on NYE.

I'm personally chuckling at the crisis some of the rosegios are having today. Apparently gio and rose were at two different Halloween parties last night and that's made them think that maybe just maybe they're not together.

I don’t think it’s that deep tbh. I’ve had really good workmates that I’ve been friends with at the time but when I moved on we lost touch. People forget that Strictly’s a job. I also think AJ comments on both of their insta posts still so I’d be shocked if there was any drama. I didn’t see any of the ‘sizzling chemistry’ the stans were on about either

100%. I really think we’re struggling this year for WOW dances other than hamza’s salsa they’re all a bit meh so far, nothing to rewatch. Dare I say it but I really miss there being a massive ringer

I love ringers and always vote for them Faye and Ashley in one year was a dream.

Kai and Nadiya were definitely 100% together during last year's show. Nadiya had gone home to her family over Christmas/NY last year.
Gio and Kai hang around with the McGill family because they are wealthier than it is possible to imagine. They fly them out on private planes and fund their stays in the most exclusive of places. They also throw epic parties in their mansion in Hertfordshire that a select few of the Strictly cast and crew are included in.

Yeah that still sounds very grubby.

I had a look and in between gloating that Rose and Gio's Halloween record is unbeaten, someone called Susan was being scolded for saying she didn't think they are a couple and it was cruel of Liz to keep posting that they were as it encouraged delusions, whereupon Shelley, the moderator wrote: ‘Susan, Opinions are like arseholes ..we all have one!! Noone is shoving their opinions down your neck ,please feel free to FCUK OFF if you are not enjoying the group !!’

With two weak shows in a row and a sentiment from many that the series is flat, what do we think the show needs to do next year to improve?

I really enjoyed 2020 & 2021 as there were less dancers. We need less again!

Yes absolutely this,the first few shows were endless this year..I think less theme weeks aswell,just give them a song and a style and leave them to it without including a theme

They could have Halloween be the first theme week and move Movie week to when they normally have Musical week. There's movie versions of a lot of musicals now anyway.

I think next year will be better by default as there won't be a BBC theme week shoehorned in so Halloween will have more resonance.
Personally I'd like less theming and mad costumes, better judging, and just a tad more drama.

Or literally combine move and musical week cause they literally cross over so much theres no point in both. Oh and also, no movie/musical themes any other week. Sure use the songs, but no stupid costumes or acting.

And to add to what needs to go in the bin: cringe acting vt’s. Add nothing. Noone thinks they’re funny. Completely unnecessary

Less themed weeks
No CG bleeping I
Results on a Saturday
Less produced

Yeah, that's kinda what I meant when I said move movie week but movie musical week sounded weird in my head

Yes to all of this and just do the results show the same night. We all know it’s filmed the same night anyway! It’s not even about spoilers, it’s that I cringe every time someone on the Sunday show says “last night” or “on Saturday” cause I know they’re still on the same Saturday night.

Yes the scoring is barmy. Far too high too early on. So the frequent 8s and 9s are now meaningless.
The judges should critique without ever being mocking or unkind.
Less gimmicky dances without the props and effects. And better lighting - for eg Kym's dance was in such dark lighting and the camera was such a distance away sometimes I couldn't really get a decent sense of it tbh.
Bake Off is in the same slump tbh. All a bit lacklustre through straying away from the original concept.
