I think they spent a lot of the first lockdown in separate countries- he waa doing dance tik toks with his dad and brother and presumably she was in Italy. Maybe the distance and separation played a part in the split.

I thought Laila and Ronnie had just announced a split after 10 years

Again could be tabloid rubbish but I think I read the pros now get a fee of £50k for the series. Although would the ones on those rumoured 'part time' contracts get less? The workload certainly differs from a benched pro to one with a partner

I think there was a rumour that Anton got more than the others when he was a pro (I'm guessing he's definitely getting more now!)

Yeah it was awful, but unless she’s lying about them staying friends then she must have been able to see past it.

I can’t remember how that came out. They surely didn’t show the training clip? Not that that makes any difference, nor does the fact she wasn’t bother take away from the awfulness of what he said.

I think Kai & Giulia were one of those couples that didn't survive lockdown and I think were geographically separated for some of it as well so probably drifted apart. Maybe a case of different goals as well, with him doing Strictly and her going back to the Italian competitive ballroom scene whereas their relationship was previously kept going for several years with them both doing DWTS Ireland.

It's hard because she might have felt obliged to laugh it off (there are articles at the time with her saying it's fine, he's apologised) but then for her to say now the experience was a nightmare might suggest she reflects differently on it now. Anton is 'lucky' that this happened pre-Twitter etc as he woudl surely be sacked now.

I didn't watch that series so someone must have leaked the comment? Also this is not great and makes me feel justified in my mild dislike of Anton as an uber-Tory who may not be as nice as he seems:

Bloody hell Anton 🤦🏻‍♀️! There was maybe a lot of reasons why Laila didn’t feel comfortable enough to say how she felt and that it was easier to say she was fine with it. On the other hand, that could’ve been her way out if she wasn’t enjoying it.

Here’s an article from the time - she does say she accepted his apology and was enjoying the show. This was on 5 October so it was said early doors - maybe the experience went downhill from there?

This could be just a completely inaccurate observation from myself, as social media really gives no facts, but other than the curry/ football and the actual dancing/ press Kai didn’t seem to interact really with the group. It may not be his scene but he appeared to miss some of the night outs and nights in the room that they had. It just seems a little odd at 26 to miss out ( from what we have to go by) on various interactions between the cast. He’s maybe just quiet.

In other news. Johannes on drag race will be everything 😊

Probably too busy with his 10/10 new girlfriend to care about a night out in a shite club in nottingham tbh 😂 From what I saw on social media throughout tour he was with the rest of the cast majority of the time, but at the end of the day they don’t all have to be together as a big group 24/7. I think I saw John go on one night out the whole 4 weeks, some people just prefer to have some time to chill especially when it’s such a grueling schedule.

In the ongoing takeover of the BBC by Strictly pros, Neil will be co-presenting Saturday Mash-Up on Sat morning. Who knows, he may have a flair for presenting??!
