Yeah it does depend on the pro - Janette does strike me a social climber and has used her 'friendships' to climb the ladder in my opinion. I mean she's someone who is 'friends' with other contestants outside her own celebs. I don't think she is a nasty person but I do see her as someone who has reaped the benefits of her friendships as much as possible. Amy barely stays in touch with Karim anymore and he was her best contestant; I think whoever can get her that glitterball will be her ultimate BFF.

I rather pro's who can be kind and genuine when teaching their celebs and still speak highly of them when the show is done and not do this whole ''We'll be BFF's for life!!'' shtick. I think Karen, Dianne, Gorka and Graziano for example have this down imo.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re right with Janette - she was very pally with Melvin up until when he DJed at her wedding, and haven’t seen a lot of them together since. Massively pally with Ashley Roberts too, which I found a little strange given how she likes to sing about how Gio and her are the bestest of friends, and there’s clearly bad blood there? I’d feel a bit weird about that if I were Ashley. And I doubt Amy’s friendship with Tom and his wife will be on her terms, imagine she’ll be kidnapped and kept as the first Fletcher daughter

Something about Dianne + her relationship with her celebs doesn’t quite sit with me. Am sure I’m in the minority but something about her feels a little off. Nobody could convince me her hysterical sobbing when Dev was kicked out week 3 was anything to do with being heartbroken for him and not her having a tantrum. I wonder if she’s actually as lovely towards her partners as people seem to think

Janette seems to be everyone's BFF (including other cast members) and I can't think of any partner who she doesn't seem to have stayed friends with, even Julien Macdonald who annoyed basically the entire audience and HRVY who is 15 years younger. I wonder if she's fully genuine or not, everyone surely comes across a few people they don't like.

I'm quite a cynical person, but I think in this case it's genuine. Janette seems like a very warm person and I think she just has a lot of love to give.

It really does vary from pro to pro on who has actually made a ‘friend for life’ and who’s caught up in the moment. Aljaz and Janette are the most genuine with their BFF claims imo, absolutely no doubt Sara will be having meet ups with them long after this season. Amy likely to be adopted by the Fletchers, and I could honestly see JoJo having a post show friendship. Maybe Tilly and Nikita too. Everyone else, not a chance.

EDIT: Dan and Nadiya + Oti and Ugo I reckon could go either way. Everyone else either felt way too intense to be fully genuine, or was just clear as day no spark

Don’t let the AJ & Kai fans hear you saying that … they are convinced they are meeting up soon to dance/film their showdance

Agree totally re Dianne. Her and Robert seemed visibly uncomfortable with each other during interviews and she doesn't come across as genuinely friendly. Also training clips always look a bit dull and technical rather than helping somebody enjoy learning to dance.

I think Dianne was fine with Dev & Robert, but just didn't click enough to be BFFs for life. She seemed fairly pally with the Rev from what I remember. Obviously stayed close with Joe.

I wonder if there is a bit of bad blood between her & Max, definitely think they weren't a partnership that gelled and can imagine that it would be awkward if they ran into each other given that he seemed to enjoy the tour much more with another pro.

It felt like she had no patience for Robert and didn’t find him funny at all, but tried to push it a bit because Joe loves him. People seem to have spun this bubbly, hilarious Aussie image for her, but I’ve never picked up on it at all - quite the opposite actually

If Janette was best pals with all her celebs then it is what it is even though I would still call bullshit on that but its like you said the fact she has made so many 'friendships' with the other contestants as well is whats weird. Like I said before I think she is a social/tv climber and has being using her connections as much as possible.

I think Dianne is genuine with her partnerships; the Dev thing was a shock as the week previous when he did his Genie CC dance he was a contender for the final so I believe the emotion was real as everyone seemed to be in shock he was eliminated; there was arguments that he did better in the dance off than Emma did.

I don't think Robert was best suited for strictly, of course because of his heart condition first and foremost but his humour didn't seem to match the cheesy-ness that strictly brings; however him and Dianne seemed to get on well enough and they even went for dinner after they exited the show.

Max didn't suit the show as he was too nervous and didn't seem he wanted to be there at all; he suits the tour well enough as he is used to touring, its the same dances repeated, and theres nothing at stake.

Well we know what Neil’s like! But yeah, Nikita and Tilly have the cutest friendship, she was really struggling to get warm after coming out of the water and he was carefully putting all the layers on her and looking after her.

This. I think she's actually quite blunt and reserved but puts on a show. I'm not really a fan of her or her dancing, and I wonder if it's because it feels like she's holding something back all the time.

Definitely seen a fun side to Max on the tour, really didn’t take to him on the show.

Katya & Oti both seem to get on well with pretty much all of their partners and have seemingly stayed friends with some of them after show.

We know that Katya is still friends with Ed & Mike, seemingly on decent terms with Nicola and probably the same with Adam (though not BFFs with either). Wonder what happened with her & Joe McFadden.

Oti & Bill definitely and also seems to still be in touch with Graeme & Danny. Kelvin & her seemed to get on well during the show but I reckon they lost touch along the way. In her video on It Takes Two, Jonnie Peacock seemed to be the partner she talked least about...

Interesting that both seem to be most pally with their older celebs.

Totally agree, I’m no expert but none of her choreography stands out to me at all. The only dance of hers I can recall as thinking ‘wow’ was Dev’s CC, but that was more the shock factor from his improvement, and she didn’t even choreograph that. I can’t help but feel like if it weren’t for the Sugg fans that watch purely for her that boost the popularity she would’ve been benched by now

I get the feeling Oti is not really fussed over Jonnie and Kelvin just from watching the ITT video. It seems as if she will always be annoyed she didn't win with Danny.

I think she did a really good job with Joe; a non dancer who has not done any entertainment show before. Dev's first few dances were great and of course his CC; it was just unfortunate he got the cha cha which is notorious for not being the greatest dance to do much with and it was on a week where so many people from the bottom improved that particular week. Robert's serious tango was very good and showed promise of how good he could have improved. I've said it before and I'll say it again I would love her to see her with a Danny Mac to see how far she can push her choreography.

Katya’s relationship with Ed is honestly really sweet, and it was her year with Mike that really made me warm to her. Their mics on clips had me howling, they just seemed hilarious. She clearly does quite well with the older contestants! I’d be very surprised if Adam’s fiancée allowed for more than a handshake between the two of them now

She could’ve sat down in the other ones then. More likely the dress wasn’t practical for sitting in. You’d have seen her nooni!

I think Dianne is almost certain to get a ringer this year, her best dancer was Joe who imo wasn’t as good as everyone claimed, so agreed, would like to see her with a real hot shot. I wouldn’t be shocked if she’s next in line for a departure from Strictly though, feel there’s definitely a baby on the cards for her and Joe soon
