Tyler told MailOnline: 'I'm an emotional wreck. I landed at 7:30am and I went home, changed my suitcase over and I'm on my way to training.

'I was only in Mauritius for three hours. I trained all day Tuesday, and I went straight from training to the airport and I got there at 8pm. I arrived in Mauritius, who are three hours ahead, the next morning and the flight was about 12 hours.

'I was held up at the airport for two hours and it was an hour transfer to the hotel where my brother was getting married. I just got there in time so that I was getting ready with the groomsmen.

'I watched the ceremony, he said his vows and "I do", and it was emotional but as the sun was going down and everyone was having their photos taken, I had to say my goodbyes and I went straight back to the airport. I got there at 3pm and I left just before 6pm for the airport"

I'm sorry but this is not a sob story! you made a choice to do Strictly while your bro was getting married - you could have put it off till next year. You chose to make an environmentally damaging long-haul flight in the middle of your training.

I'm sorry but this is not a sob story! you made a choice to do Strictly while your bro was getting married - you could have put it off till next year.

I think this has been discussed before on here but who's to say he would have gotten asked back next year if he turned it down this year?

Then he is not famous enough so surely he might have been told that the chance might not have come back round again? Is he famous enough to be saying that he cant do this year but he will do next year?

Everyone knows how much of a boost in career strictly gives you so who would want to turn it down if you're 'barely famous'.

Just checking is that the same sentiment for all the pros?? Or just Dianne.

Karen exited the competition early 3 years in a row with Jeremy Vine, Will Young and Simon Rimmer and one of those contestant had to withdraw as well. Karen has made the final and got along with her contestants just like Dianne.

Other pros have exited the competition early or is that just bad luck on their part?

You said 'some' had their issues; are you willing to divulge or just say she's the one completely at fault and not give reasons for that opinion?

I think Karen is a much better dancer now. When she started her ballroom was shocking. People talk about Graz, but genuinely her ballroom and posture were dire. She couldn’t stop a pig in a passage. Good for her, she obviously worked because I would imagine that it’s quite hard to teach what you can’t do yourself.

As for Diane, I don’t think that she is that good a teacher. She is obvioulsy a good dancer in her own right, but teaching is a different skill set.

As for Amy, I imagine her teaching technique to be similar to Joanne Clif-TEN and geared for small children. Somehow, I can just imagine her talking about tuna sandwiches and wheels in knees. I don’t know why.

The production choose what goes in the VT's at the end of the day regardless of what we think of them.

Some are just blessed with some of the contestants that they get thats all; some weeks you can also be luckier and unlucky.



Maybe the same opinion can be reiterated to the others who comment incessantly about one pro in particular maybe without real subjective opinion or allow for someone to have another view. I've not said anything on other occasions when this has been brought up but today there seems to be a beat down to myself for expressing another opinion.

I don’t think I personally beat you down but I’m sorry if you think I did. You are coming across as argumentative because people have different opinions on Dianne - just put people on ignore or scroll by.

You challenged me last year because I said Oti and Danny were robbed - it’s a view a lot of people hold, many said it last year and this year and it was me you asked - I don’t think you were beating me down, I gave my view and left it at that because I’m not going to change your mind on Oti or Kelvin or anyone else. And nor would I want to.

I think Tyler is in the same position as Alex Scott and Ugo - they’ve put him on Strictly to see how popular he is as they’ll have him in mind for something else. It’s the only reason I can think of why he’s doing this year when he’s had other things on - maybe they said take it or leave it? I’m honestly struggling to care. His sob story is ridiculous and would be if he was dancing with another pro.

Nope, you don’t. That’s your opinion and it’s fine . I personally think they are shite - not all of the pros are on the same level. Who they’re paired with plays a part obv but that’s not the only reason they’re voted out early.

I love this thread cos generally everyone takes things in good humour and you’re not jumped on if someone disagrees with you. Like, I’m vocal about not loving Karen but no one comes at me for it. This isn’t DS

Ngl, I hold up my hands and say I vote for Gorka regardless because he is my fave (Katie McGlynn tested my patience though). I think he would have to partnered with Liz Truss or someone equally grim for me to refuse to throw him any votes

I do like Helen a lot though so he's making it easier for me this year. And I'm still voting for other folk too at this stage of the competition

Same here...Gorks gets a vote or three regardless of his partner because I am entirely thirsty...

I do sometimes spilt my vote if I really love someones dance on the night, or if someone's good but at risk of being forgotten (only if I like them though)

This is the hill I’ll die on - and I’m happy to be corrected if I’m wrong - but I don’t think there’s been a tour where the winning CONTESTANT hasn’t done the tour. I know contestants haven’t always danced with the same pro but I can’t see someone winning and them not doing the tour

The year after followed pretty much the same format … Stacey, Faye, Joe, Ashley, Lauren semifinalist and then popular randoms Graeme and Dr Ranj.

BiB - this is why I like it here - I am hugely cynical and think they engineer scenarios to make sure the people who are signed up for the tour get to where they need to be, and I need to be challenged on that

To be fair-ish when it comes to Tour booking time you can generally tell who the front runners are.
Heck, this year I would imagine that Tony, Jayde, Hamza, Will and Helen are pencilled on the start sheet already

I’m so gutted they’re only going to Glasgow again! I moaned about this last year but 3 nights in Glasgow when they’ve been to Aberdeen before is a bit frustrating, it’ll be a cracking show

I'd agree with this take. I like Dianne and while I don't think Tyler is that cocky or anything, there's something about him that I can't warm to.

Unfortunately there is another sob story incoming. He was only at his brother’s wedding for 3 hours so didn’t get to see the happy couple do their first dance.He is is doing a special Dr Who tango in tribute

What was the actual point in him going?!

Actually, thinking about it, this might be part of the reason I'm not really feeling Tyler. I felt the same with Olly Murs on X Factor. I just couldn't miss one of my siblings weddings for a tv show. I know I shouldn't judge but there it is.

In fairness to him, he went to the wedding but a flying long-haul visit hardly seems worth it. I think it's better that he went though.

What I find difficult to agree with is selling the story to a tabloid rag in a bid to make people feel sorry for him. Even if Hamza did that, I'd find it distasteful.

Just my opinion, but as the sibling I’d feel a bit gutted at my brother/sister choosing a tv show over my wedding. I’m presuming the wedding would have been booked before Tyler signed on the dotted line for Strictly. Fair enough his brother might have been really chuffed for him, but just with other people suggesting Strictly can struggle to get younger male participants, they might have been happy to get that type of contestant next year

I like Tyler but he comes across too young and excitable, I get he's enthused to be on SCD, but calm down, you're not from CBeebies.
I'd like to see him in traditional ball room.

As for Dianne, I don't think I've ever connected with the celebs she has so don't get to see great chemistry and partnership - Suggs don't count, cos even then there was no chemistry.
