We were told to be at Elstree for 4pm and that was to film the recording of the Sunday night singers - we were so lucky to see The Script and the Stereophonics as the latter couldn’t film the following week.To those who have been lucky to get tickets to watch the show can you explain how long apart do they record the Sunday show from the live show ending. The judges have different clothes and hair and they usually wheel out a singer. Surely it must feel a very long day even for the audience.
Claudia and Tess came out - Claudia was funny, making jokes about her Spanx digging in but Tess barely acknowledged the audience and went to air kiss people she knew. They then filmed pieces to camera for the Sunday night.
The live is obviously live and they went off for ages while the scores were being verified. They then filmed the other bits (out of order) for editing for Sunday. There’s a warm up guy to keep people ‘entertained’. He moaned about the Strictly mole and reminded us all we were to keep the results a secret. There was a long time between the end of the live and the filming of the dance off (about an hour? I can’t really remember) and we all got a Capri Sun and a teeny pack of biscuits to keep us going!
The dance off was definitely Brian Connelly and I think Simon Rimmer, Brian went home. He gave a massive goodbye speech that they re-filmed and I think that was it. It was about 10.45 before we got out. It was a very long day. I’d read up before so knew to have a big lunch but it’s exhausting really, I think because it’s exciting. I remember they filmed the pro dance to the Stereophonics three times and The Script twice which was a treat. And the pro dance was fantastic, that took a few takes. In the clip you’ll see Pasha sliding in - that didn’t go to plan and I think he dropped the cocktail shaker too.
It was amazing but as I said earlier, there really isn’t much in the way of general public tickets on the go which is a shame.
No way!!!!!!! What are the chances of that?! The guy who got there at 11pm deserved the great tickets. We weren’t that many behind him in the queue, I think it was about 4am we joined the queue! In a very very weird turn of events mine was also the week Brian Connolly was voted off because I remember the headlines being all “Brian has foul mouthed rant” and it was more like…he swore but was actually really lovely in his leaving speech?
How strange!!
I’ve just posted above so correct me if I’m wrong - certain things are crystal clear but other deets are fuzzier
