But even if they do need to submit their dance-off vote in advance (though I’m not at all sure that they do), in the event of the other three judges voting one way, there’s nothing to stop the head judge throwing out an occasional ‘awwww, I’d have saved you’ as a gesture of kindness even if that wasn’t their actual vote.
Their vote is irrelevant by that point, and given that TPTB seemingly have problems booking higher-calibre guests I can’t imagine the producers are bothered by some of the sharper edges being buffed off the show.

I mean, it’s not like any of them are adjudicating an actual dance competition in any way, shape or form. As far as I’m aware there are no warthog costumes in dancesport 🤷‍♀️

Yes poor thing looked really uncomfortable. Tess should have made it look less awkward or helped in some way. That's why presenters are paid the big bucks.

tbh I find tess boring and stiff. They could replace her and it’d make no difference to the show imo. It’s not like shes an Ant and Dec type situation where the show would be tit without her.

i like Claudia though. My vote for strictly host would be graham Norton or a drag queen. I want a bit of humour 😂

As wooden as she is, I kinda feel like Tess's schtick is now part of the Strictly experience and it would be weird without her 😆

It's actually a really cushy number, imo. And no doubt very well paid.
I skimmed over a lot of the talky bits so didn't see Michelle's daughter.

Shirley is so predictable. She always has a knife in at least one woman. Meanwhile most of the men could fall over and fail to finish the dance due to forgetting it, but she would praise them and give them a good mark anyway.

Except Matt Goss. She doesn't like him either.
 
We are still talking about the injustice of Craig’s ‘2’ in our house. And his face. The studio erupted, the country cheering and laughing and the judges needed to read the room right then.
How can they mark so inconsistently when Week 1 they were chucking high scores around as though it was the semi’s

If it was scored on the basis of who was most entertaining, it was a 10 😁

And I think Tony is working really hard. He will never be a dancer and that's fine, but he is doing his best.
It must be a bit disappointing after a lot of work to be handed such a low score.
 
I've just seen the result and I'm devastated for Richie :( I don't like to claim that something's a fix but I did feel like something was off last night with those hideous costumes and the fact they went first, I suspected that they might be at a big disadvantage but I didn't think they'd actually get eliminated...and apparently they were against Fleur? What the hell? People who are good from the start often end up in dance offs (e.g Danny Mac, Ashley Roberts, Karim Zeroual) but to for her to be there in WEEK 3? And having done a dance to a hugely popular Disney song? I'm baffled
I feel so sorry for Richie because with Gio winning the previous series, unfavourable comparisons between him and Rose are going to be made. But we saw from his quickstep last week that he had huge potential, he could have gone so much further. I'm so sad for him
 
Tony’s 2 was unfair when Craig was handing others questionable higher scores . If he’d gone with a 4 I don’t think people would’ve been as raging. If they weren’t marking his dance ability he should’ve at least got a few more marks for his characterisation. At least his faffing was actually recognisable inspiration from the film.

I agree he was stitched up. I can't decide if it was by the show for the styling, or Gio who didn't bother much with the routine, or both. Maybe there just wasn't much that could have been done with those costumes, though we've seen Gio before do a lot with unpromising material (Lonely Goatherd!)
