Probably backpedaling hard given they had no control over how this news was leaked.. my guess is it’s a very new relationship/small fling that was nowhere near the going public stage (could be that family members haven’t been informed etc and found out through press) and now they’ve got a situation on their hands

Could be, but I’ve got my popcorn ready for tonights headlines….can’t honestly understand why the papers are really this interested in two single dancers?

Exactly, and no offence at all to Nadiya, but I wouldn’t list her down as one of the popular dancers that typically sells headlines. They’ve sniffed it out from somewhere, I didn’t see anyone talking about the possibility of them being an item until the daily fail chirped up, so someone’s ratted them out… Quite interested to see what they’re planning on feeding the papers now. Something in her teeth Kai? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Because of the traction it’s received online. Their goal is to generate revenue with clicks so they read here, they read Digital Spy and the trashy rags get almost all their stories now from social media - to coin a Daily Mail phrase, they’ll see people repeatedly “whipped into a frenzy” and go with it until it’s no longer the fodder of shippers.

They could make a novel out of the twitter shippers reactions!
so far The Fail and The Sun have done a little bit more expanding. The Fail has added a chunk lifted from Ok magazine’s article last week ( saying aj was shocked he’d moved on from her so quickly) but also stating they just friends… so basically a right messy article with nothing ‘new’. The Sun has a few more pap photos of them walking together but not much else.
I wonder what the Express and Mirror have in store…

Daily mail comments are so nasty about Kai and Nadiya.They question her maternal feelings etc. awful
What is Nadiya supposed to do? Being her child on tour? Pull her out of school ? Pay for several hotel rooms? I hate that men are never pulled up on parental responsibilities...

It’s all clickbait shite though, for want of a better term. Now Facebook has newspaper articles, I have a flick through and an example was after Shirley Ballas had been on Lorraine; the headline from some magazine was she had confirmed something was going on with Nadiya and Kai but on reading the article, what they quoted her as saying was nothing of the sort.

The papers didn’t have anything concrete about AJ and Kai during Strictly because there wasn’t anything to see. But they were running with stories taken from social media and forums.

I find your comment about Twitter shippers reaction quite interesting…would you not put yourself somewhere in the shipping category? That is a genuine question meant from a place of interest. I think a lot of your posts have not been as extreme as some of the others shared on here but I thought you were shipping AJ and Kai throughout the series.

There are some horrible comments on there, especially about Kai ( I think jealousy might be involved as they can’t understand what she sees in him…erm he’s a fit fellow dancer who’s kind and funny, it’s not all about supermodel looks!). But then Fail commentators are mostly morons!

That woman is deranged. I have been about to reply to her loads of times on twitter and just thought there’s no point. She is demented.

I would have loved them to be a couple, but I’m realistic! I’m nowhere near the twitter level I assure you! I’m perfectly happy he’s with Nadiya or whoever as long as everyone is chill. I just loved kj’s connection and dancing , and their insta stories and ITTs etc were just so enjoyable. I like them as individuals as well, so will be interested in whatever they do next ( should hope so, as I’m seeing kai live 3 times so far this year!)

I find it all really interesting. I did point out that your posts weren’t as extreme and asked if you would put yourself anywhere in that category. I think I maybe concentrate on little things you say and possibly read them differently, e.g “I’m perfectly happy he’s with Nadiya as long as everyone is chill” - what does that even mean? People aren’t being “chill” and that’s the problem. People are targeting innocent folk and it’s wrong on so many levels.

I genuinely don’t know why I care so much to keep asking questions, it’s like I can’t stop myself! I love Strictly and I love to hear different opinions so I’m loathe not to check in at all but I feel exhausted trying to work people out.
