Whether they are together or not you can’t really base it on what has happened since the show ended. The pros/celebs go home to spend time with family, it’s been this way forever. Personally I think they have something going on but I can’t say it keeps me up at night 😂

But to be fair you were the one who said not long ago that the analysis of what is or isn’t going on has to stop…maybe Lockdown Sux is putting out what they think in a bid to stop the conversation going back to the intense “are they aren’t they?” it was for quite a while. (I’m not speaking for LS just putting it out there it might be where they’re coming from).

Everyone is entitled to an opinion so I’m not sure why it’s okay for someone to express they think, just as an example, Kai is going back to London to look after AJ based on social media posts but someone isn’t allowed to say they’re not going to get together because Kai has liked peoples posts on IG? Mid Century doesn’t appear to know either of them personally either?

And there are those of us in the middle who hope AJ gets to dance on the tour (but aren’t happy that the tour isn’t coming to their city) but honestly couldn’t care less if they are together or not.

The new series starts in early September I think normally (the opening show this year was filmed early September but then the series start towards the end of the month and was live from thereon in). When they invite the current champion back to dance, I don’t think they have much in the way of rehearsals (I’m saying that judging by the difference in dance ability from when they last danced until they next danced, they probably don’t have time to commit to a lot of rehearsing). But that of course would be down to them, Kai will undoubtedly have a partner next week and if they do train with their partner for 6 weeks before the show starts, he might not be able to commit to much more.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up that it’ll definitely happen. I hope it does because as I said, the tour isn’t coming to where I am but even though it was said at the end of last series, I doubt anything has been signed.

If they are true friends or romantically involved then they won’t need the dancing to keep in touch. Unless they go on tour together or do something dance-related as a couple (maybe they could on IG but they wouldn’t get a programme out of it) then after the one appearance on Strictly if it comes off, then you probably won’t ever see them dance together again.

Why would anyone cancel holiday plans with family or friends for someone they've only been dating for a few months? I don't particularly think they are dating, but I wouldn't call this much proof against it.

Agreed; never have cared never will care.

I think its seems obvious to me anyway that they are not together; I think AJ was probably more keen on him than Kai was on her.

Kai strikes me as a guy who will probably enjoy the initial attention as the new popular pro and will probably not settle down for a good number of years ala Gio.
 
The speculating about AJ and Kai really put me off them, tbh, even though it wasn't their fault. Claudia asking them to kiss, FFS - it's not Year 9! I think they're both very nice and had some beautiful ballroom dances but I must admit I got bored of them and seeing people clinging on to speculation even now and counting the number of seconds it takes Kai to like AJ's posts is just straight up nope for me.

Yes all that stuff was super cringe, and I got the feeling they asked them to stop.

The whole thing reminds me a bit of the fuss made about Mollie and AJ (the other one). I remember there was a similar reaction on DS and the show seemed to push it a bit too. And there turned out to be nothing going on 😆

I couldn't care less if AJ and Kai are a thing or not (good luck to them either way). They both seem nice, but if they're not together, I'm not sure AJ liking stuff on twitter and messing with people is a good idea, especially when folk seem to be quite invested

Have to agree I'm afraid, the speculation killed off any enthusiasm I had for AJ and Kai long before the series ended, and especially now it is over. It was amusing seeing some posters on DS who have criticised others for being too invested show themselves to be hypocrites by becoming crazy stans themselves though :sneaky:
I have been overly invested in Strictly partnerships before, so I get it, but there comes a point where you realise you need to give your head a wobble and take a step back, and some AJ and Kai fans passed that point a while ago 😬

Oh god yes, the Mollie and AJ thing! There was zero chemistry between them - why were people shipping them so fervently?!

I agree with you re AJ driving the speculation if there's actually nothing on. I'm sure she's enjoying the attention and might even think everybody's joking when I suspect a lot of them believe it.
