The joy of being a self employed artisan - no work over the Christmas break. Loads ( literally a whole building to do) in the NY , so phone being packed away at that point! I have tickets for the London bit of the tour though, so rather selfishly hoping they are fit for that. At least John and Jojo will be there and we get to see the Paso again.
 
Of course it would be nice if AJ & Kai are together, and I think there’s a big chance that they are. However I think the analysis of every single thing they do needs to stop. I don’t get the whole “Kai is back to look after AJ” thing … i’m pretty sure they would both have been back in London this week anyway, whether that’s to spend time with each other or for another reason. I don’t think it’s a Ranvir/Gio thing, more likely to be similar to Gorka/Gemma but I do find the obsession with every little thing they do strange.

I think she will probably be getting her boot off soon and will then have a better indication of how soon she will be able to dance again. Rehearsals start next week from what i’ve read but she can join later, she’s said before that she picks up dances very quickly so probably won’t need as much time as some others.

I should clarify I meant look after in a professional ‘get her fit for the tour’ capacity! As part of my work, I’m on insta a lot to promote my work, so not hard to follow posts on there too. My usual twixmas thing is either book reading or watching classic movies, but this keeping me amused this time :) . Anyone seen Janette’s posts from Slovenia? Lovely family time.

I think any pro would be silly to think about swapping Strictly for DWTS. It‘s not the show it once was. It doesn’t have anywhere close to the same level of recognition in the States that Strictly has here and it only gets around 5 million viewers these days. Also there’s a clear hierarchy to the professionals which is reflected in the partners they get and their pay. Someone like Giovanni would go from being one of the most well-known Strictly pros to bottom of the rung on DWTS.

Obviously it all worked out for Artem since he met his partner through DWTS but he had eight seasons, and was dropped twice, before he finally made the final and won. That’s very different to the success he had on Strictly in only four years.

Yeah, I suppose it has waned a bit, although the last series was pretty popular. I’m just thinking now Gio has the glitterball he may want to move on? Who knows? Next years lineup will be quite a change I think. I just really hope Anton doesn’t go back in.
 
I have to agree with @BDY_97, I struggled to care whether they were involved whilst the series was going on so I couldn’t be less interested now.

I think you answered your own point Mid Century - AJ knows full well that people talking about it keeps her relevant. I think she came across brilliantly on the show but that doesn’t mean she’s not adverse to a bit of tactics to maybe get the votes in the tour if she’s able to dance.

It’s difficult to know how to say it without coming across as trying to moderate but it always goes back to AJ and/or Kai and it’s pretty dull. There’s only so much scrolling by I can do tbh 😂

I think it's hard to say as everything hangs on what they're going to decide after new year. Let's hope so, as surely bringing any restrictions now would be pointless.
 
I find this whole dynamic being imagined by AJ and Kai fans (I am mostly ref to the twitter lot who all appear to be rather young) is rather toxic! The idea that AJ likes to cause drama and that kai is the poor put upon boyfriend who needs to confiscate her phone. It's almost 2022 time to stop with stereotypes.

AJ has really painted herself into a corner by being so friendly with those who DM her I can imagine once the Xmas lull is over and she's back on her feet what was once a bit of fun is going to become a bit of a burden.

They are definitely over invested. I’ve messaged a few to suggest they chill out a bit! One has become a bit of a friend now and I’m doing a bit of mummying, as she obviously has self esteem issues. I agree she has gone way too deep , and maybe will regret it!

From Giovanni’s IG stories, Kai has joined him out in Italy which is a very nice way to spend the weird gap between Christmas and New Year’s.

(I hope the AJ/Kai shippers are okay since he’s not immediately rushed to her side…)

The Strictly professionals seem to all get along, particularly because so many of them knew each other before they joined the show, but I’m always interested to see who are actually close friends rather than just colleagues once Strictly ends for another year.

I’m actually glad he’s spending time with his bestie, I was worried they’d fallen out a bit! Just hope neither of them do a Diane and catch covid and get stuck out there!
Thry did live together for most of this year, so haven’t had much time to catch up I expect.

Oh Portofino, I'm so jealous! I normally go to Italy a few times a year for work and haven't been since 2019!

(It does amuse me slightly that Gio talked so much about missing his fam after not seeing them for 2 years, spent a few days with them, then buggered off up north. Relatable! Very like Janette, who went on all last season about missing Aljaz as they bubbled separately during SCD for months, then spent 2 days with him at Xmas and promptly flew off to Florida..)

I have noted that too I suppose dancers are used to traveling a lot from a young age so relationship bonds are a bit different compared to most.

I am pretty sure Gio goes to Portofino regularly when he is in Italy seems to be a favourite spot. I wonder if Giulia Dotta will join them since they are in the North... now that would really shake up the shippers. 😬
 
All those people out there shipping KJ and Rio...and it's Kai and Gio spending NYE together!! 😂😂

Delighted that the pros have managed to get home to see families this year! ❤️must've been so tough being away for so long!
I must admit Alijaz with his neices and Giovanni with his nephew melted my heart a little bit! 😍
