Will catch up tomorrow but that was intense!

Still loved Rose's CC dance, one of those dances that will always give goosebumps.
And John , I enjoyed the paso more than I expected.

Rose's showdance was underwhelming yes, it showed her dance skills but I prefer showdances to be dynamic.

Enjoyed John's showdance for energy but still disappointed he hadn't developed since the beginning.

Group dance - loved but too much Tom (filling in for missing dancers?).
Expected VT from Tilly (unless she's unwell) and Robert too.

Obviously the show was sad and emotional particularly because it was just the 2 of them.
 
I haven't caught up with the thread yet, but here's my thoughts:

At least Gio didn't do a Kevin and fling himself to the floor, clenching his fists in victory

AJ made me cry 😢

I think, on the whole, I've had my fill of emotional VTs. It feels like we've had them all series. Tonight just felt like they were saying the same thing over and over again

Thought both showdances were decent but not classics. Also, the VTs pretty much confirming the pros have virtually no input in them now

I found some of it moving, but for a final, it lacked a big Hollywood, upbeat showdance - just needed something to lift the evening a bit

Well done Rose and Gio! Well deserved 😊

Definitely. Only two professionals have won it twice so I expect Giovanni knows he’ll get a duffer for the next year or two. But it’s still ~£50K/year and a big boost to ticket sales for tours. Pros who have left the show don’t often find success outside of Strictly so I see him sticking with it for at least another couple of years and possibly doing a Xmas special with Rose one day.

Rose’s final speech was heartfelt but also ‘no matter how busy we get or how far apart we are you’ll have a place in my heart’. Sorry stans, she’s already out - loved it all and has grown and moved on. I hope she takes her renewed confidence and continues to thrive.
 
Yay my faves won!! I'm so happy for Rose & Gio! :love: John and Johannes were worthy finalists and produced some great dancing as did AJ and Kai. It's heart-wrenching that AJ was unable to dance due to sustaining an injury on finals week- I'm gutted for her and Kai! 😔

This year was one of the strongest strictlys for talent, entertainment and out of show shenanigans (I'm looking at you Tom, Amy & Sara!)

It's been a riot reading this thread and even though I haven't contributed much, I want to thank the strictly thread tattlers for 13-weeks of mirth and merriment! I've probably seen enough Neil Jones pics to last me a lifetime though! 😂

Not overly the opposite channel - it’s more when the programme in question is in competition with the other and their flagship one (or one of them) - think charity fusions are the exception like Children in need and sports relief

the masked dancer was toilet … DOI is probably their direct equiv of strictly, just on ice

Unless Gio gets the dancing with the stars gig and then he’ll go…
The Russian dude who did the US so you think you can dance, won strictly with Kara tointon, dated her then fucked off to do dancing with the stars

hopefully they’ll keep anton on and say bye bye to Bruno
