Sorry if someone/lots have posted this before as I only dip in and out. I keep being baffled about all the fuss about a baby.shower and.not.having one with Rex.as.i was sure i started following her.after I saw her posts of her.baby shower in 2019

Indeed. I had my best girlfriends round for afternoon tea as it would likely be the last time for a while once the baby was born. That suited me fine. I also said no presents for the baby until it was born! That OTT event seen today was ridiculous. All those balloons will end up in landfill too. They're like little overindulged children.

The advice for pregnant women is to stop smoking.
Loves her baby to the moon and back but clearly loves a fag more.
47% of stillbirths are caused by smoking during pregnancy.

I have for to say the amount of stuff at that baby shower in this day and age where people can’t afford a pram sometimes is repulsive. I don’t care if it was all for the gram it is so OTT and there was no need to plaster it all over social media and make some people feel like their life is tit.

If she really wanted to make a good gesture, rather than approaching the company with her idea in the hope of getting them for free, she could have just done what the rest of us would have had to do, and paid for them and then donated them!

Or do these people only want to do something charitable if it's not costing them a penny?
 
That’s outrageous. All the money they’re making (and with the extravagance of this shower) they could have just bought the furniture. It’s only cheap IKEA stuff. I’d have been impressed if they did that and donated it. But to approach a company for freebies, and then make out it’s not #gifted. Surely it still counts when you’ve begged for it, whether you then donate them or not, you still got to use it for free. Scroungers.
 
She'll still get good publicity, the media will say how generous she is for donating the table and other items. They'll make it out as if she paid for everything and then donated it. The Skank for some reason is loved by the media and is like teflon.

Shocking, would have maybe meant something if the millionaire or the sister with the huge investment from another millionaire had bought these and THEN donated them off their own backs. Basically doesn't cost these companies anything as they can do tax deductions on the charity donations... IKEA stuff is super cheap anyway.
 
I’d love to know from these small businesses how many actually received a penny for any of it. Or was every single thing just gifted for the promise of follows.

And why is the date on everything? I’ve never seen a cake with the date of the event on. That looks weird to me, like they’ve held it before, but asked everyone not to share until that date, and put the date on everything to make it clearly look like it happened yesterday.

Wonder what the rules are on tagging stuff as #gifted if you then donate it afterwards. Surely they can’t get around it by just sort of borrowing it?

The sister’s put “instead of being gifted” but they still used it for free.
