I just don’t believe anything from now on that comes from government or Main Stream media my trust in them has been completely eroded
An that’s abit of a cop out saying they only become aware last week I just don’t believe it.
 
I’ve never wanted to believe this but
I am starting to believe that the mainstream media and the government do not want to be labelled as racist or islamic phobia that is why they do not want to be transparent with the public about these cases everything comes out in the end which makes the public feel even more angry because they feel like they are being lied to

Well according to some posters in other threads a fair proportion of these will be skilled doctors and engineers so that being the case I'm expecting a cure for cancer and great technological marvels to emerge from these fields. Perhaps they truly will be Elysium.

It's quite amazing really. To an outsider the countries they come from appear to be failed states, wracked by violence, religious extremism, and civil war. Yet we are lead to believe that they produce skilled polymaths in such numbers that they literally wash up on British shores on a daily basis. And yet somehow, someway, despite the massive surplus in skilled people these countries produce they never seem to make technological advance, lower the mortality rate, or produce cutting edge products....

What their cheerleaders never acknowledge though is if they were all doctors and engineers they could just apply for a skilled workers visa and fly in legally, rather than having to pay a people trafficker get here in the back of a container or an inflatable dinghy crossing the Channel.

I’m sure there are genuine people there , it’s those interested in opening an Alan’s Snackbar franchise along with the usual degenerates and predators concerns me ,they shouldn’t be loose on any streets especially those miles from home, we don’t owe these people anything.

Yeah there’s plenty of legal routes for skilled workers.

Yep you'd think the thousands of pounds they pay people smugglers would be much better spent booking time at an internet cafe to make an formal application as a skilled worker. Quick easy, cheaper and doesn't require perching on a dinghy

You do realise most of these people have nothing more than the clothes on their back? No documents as they’ve fled a war zone or persecution.

Well of course they knew. When I worked for the police we never discovered actual ricin but we did discover someone with the tools and ingredients to make it, even that was immediately reportable, and we got a steer back from Anti-terror within two hours.

So either the protocols have changed since my time (left eight years ago) which is a possibility I accept, or the investigation reached Met levels of gross incompetence, or the government is bare faced lying. And none of these options paint a particularly complimentary picture.

Wait until January and let’s see what comes out at the trial.
