Sophie & Jamie Laing #2 Went to rehab for the coke, after banging that Harvey bloke

I was listening to Jamie talking about his boarding school experience on one of his recent podcasts. His parents and the way they went about the whole thing makes them sound like complete d!cks. Apparently they never told him they were sending him to boarding school, and just drove him there and dropped him off in his new dorm room. Naturally he was like "wtf" then his mum swiftly pissed off and left him there, and a load of boys tried pranking him on his first night.

I think he was like 10 or 11 at that point. He laughed the whole thing off, probably as a defense mechanism to mask the abandonment issues. To me it just screams "neglectful, douchebag parents". I can't fathom why anyone would do that to their kid.

He was 8 !
Eight years old, parents split up, mother dropped him off and left so she could go out on the dating scene (and tells him and his siblings quite often that she ‘had to’ because she couldn’t ’bear them!’) and didn’t bother to tell him, his teacher had to break it to him that he wasn’t going home.
Jamie is insufferable yes, but that alone really makes me feel such empathy for him. I just can’t imagine the trauma of it.

It’s well documented and proven that boarding school causes immense abandonment issues.
(Also, interesting that our country is run by boarders who also happen to lack any empathy too)

100%. It works for some people but I think they’ve mastered detachment and haven’t really known any different, they most likely had that attachment type. This wasn’t the case for Jamie clearly, sounds like he has trauma from it

yep. as annoying as he can be, i think his desperation to be liked and how he clings to sophie when she obviously seems to find him repulsive most of the time makes so much sense when you take all of that into account. he got genuinely emotional/taken aback when his dad said he was proud of him on strictly too. it makes me feel empathy for him too because, god, imagine a teacher having to be the one to tell you that your parents have basically left you somewhere and aren’t coming back for a while.

Does Sophie have a botched boob job? Seeing her on Vick hope’s story makes me think that. Is it normal to have a nipple that high and to the side?
I don't think she's had the done lately but I think when she did have them done she went too big and the implant has really dropped/sagged over time which means her nipple is now much higher.
If you look at this picture she has no fullness in the upper part of her boob. She's all lower boob/implant and flat chested.

I always assumed they were real because of how saggy they are - that’s terrible that she had to pay for that 😂

I remember watching her on MiC years ago and thinking wtf is with those breast implants. They're weirdly droopy. In one scene she was wearing a sports bra and they were hanging really noticeably low. Am surprised she didn't register it.

I'm not being funny, but I do wonder if she gets a lot of her cosmetic work at knock-off prices because it all seems to be wonky/bodged. Her veneers aren't even and the top set have a noticeable slope to them. She also keeps going on about her jaw Botox making her face freeze. That's not what jaw Botox does/is meant to do. She's either seeing someone dodgy or keeps getting it done to excess. Even then, no respectable aesthetician would be encouraging her to get it done so often.

Jamie asking if he’s punching again? Is that the appeal, he wants to go out with someone that he feels people are impressed that he’s managed to get. It should be about who he’s attracted to, forget what other people think and he’s the one whos got more going for him really with business, podcast etc
Guys like to be with someone their mates approve of and maybe are even jealous of. They don't tend to date women their mates hate.

Not sure Sophie is as hot as she thinks she is, but she impeccably groomed and very thin.

Can't get over this old pic of Sophie and Harvey. How much better they both look🫠

What a genuine smile!
Life is too short to be with someone you don't like / love.

It seemed at some point his Dad cashed in the mcvitties shares and had millions at his disposal, walked out of his wife and children to pursue his own pleasures ~ responsibility free. His mother suddenly heartbroken had three young children to manage and a lot less money. The dad agreed to boarding school as he went, the mum went and so it seems they repeated the cycle with their children.
Jamie was probably a very needy child and no one was around to give him the reassurance he required, the nanny left (who he claimed to adore) and then he was at boarding school while his home life was dismantled.

Thr blame seems to lie more with his Dad for this part of Jamie's life, yet his mother gets all the blame.

All this helping to shape the needy guy we see now clinging to an emotionless Sophie like a barnacle.

I don't particularly like him though, his attitude towards 18/19 year old girls is creepy af

I wonder if Jamie will send his kids to boarding school?
As his parents are if the generation of ‘we suffered so you should too’ but nowadays more and more young people are trying to ‘break the cycle’. It’ll be telling if he doesn’t.
I feel like he will send them to private but not to board, so he has the status of private school, but hopefully with less trauma for his kids?

he does seem to hold resentment for his dad over squandering the fortune, he’s mentioned it a few times on podcasts, but I think it’s more to do with people thinking he’s a multimillionaire and hasn’t ‘worked’ for what he has got. (Which is another discussion, working class hard work and posh people working hard are poles apart in reality 🥲)

Wow, I did not know any of this. Am surprised he's not more fucked up tbh. I agree - he massively objectifies Sophie on his Instagram constantly, and his penchant for teenage girls/girls barely out of their teens was disgusting. He's always seen women as sex objects/objects of desire first and foremost.

“Other neglected children”? I went to boarding school, I wasn’t in any way neglected ffs 😂
Was just about to say the same! Ffs, you aren’t neglected just cos you went to boarding school. Get a grip.

Being the wife of a diplomat is a bit of a job in itself, you’re expected to attend and host a lot of events. But she did spend as much time in England as possible.
You shouldn’t need to justify yourself here! This thread is about Sophie and Jamie, not about your childhood or your poor bloody parents who were clearly trying to do the best they could for you. Jesus. Lay off guys! We are all entitled to our own opinions but like I said, this thread is about Sophie and Jamie, not us tattlers 🙄🙄

I was looking at pics of Bianca Wallace, Ioan Gruffudd’s fiancé recently and her nipples are extremely high too. Is that part of the package when you get a boob job or do you have to pay extra? 😂 they seemed extraordinarily high 😂
