Very late to the party but yeah I'm not surprised at all this has happened. I came to know of Sophie and her antics through being a fan of female sports (mainly soccer but dabble in other codes) and this kind of thing that is alleged to have happened on Maddie's end isn't super uncommon in the world of women's sports. I must be desensitised because I was completely unfazed by the 'cheating with a teammate' allegation.

Many couples where one or both of them are female sportspeople don't tend to last significant amounts of distance for long. I can't tell you the number of times a couple suddenly gets separated by distance when they have to play on different teams in different cities or countries, and not too long later a break-up happens. The next thing you know one of them is dating one of their new teammates in their new city or country. The timelines between the relationships are usually very tight and often look like there was bare minimum emotional cheating involved.

This is the life Sophie chooses though, so no sympathy here. If she insists on dating another sportsperson she should stick with a local sport where the person won't be heading overseas. Maybe give AFLW another go. Really she should stay single for the sake of her kids but we know that ain't happening.

Unless Maddie confirms she cheated I will continue to believe Sophie is lying through her giant veneers about it.

I’m still not sure either if Maddie actually did cheat, and I wait confirmation to prove me wrong. On the other hand, I don’t think Sophie was too bothered by the cheating, they were all happy in Pisa and then back in Maddie’s town using google translate etc, she seemed to get more pissed from the cancelled Cinque Terra one-nighter, it seemed all fun and love on the train ride (remember the story about not having a window seat) but the 💩 hit the fan after the ‘coach’ called Maddie back. After that it was pretty much quiet from Sophie until she arrived back in Tulla with a tear stained face and neck. She mentions she was fragile in Doha so I’m thinking it was during the cancelling of Cinque Terra and the train ride back that the bust up happened. I wonder if Sophie tried to guilt Maddie about how expensive the booking was and pressured her to ‘throw a sickie’ or something and that’s when Maddie saw the light, that Sophie only cares about Sophie, and so when they got back to Firenze, she stayed on the couch of a team mate until Sophie could pack her shit and leave! That could be the reality of the ‘cheating’ situation… as she referred to loyalty. Maddie thankfully decided to be more loyal to her team mates and job and that’s made Sophie HANGRY!! 😡
 
I find it hard to believe Maddy cheated too - given how upset she was over the AK stuff, I still remember her crying about how much she loved Sophie even when she went back to AK, in one of the book promo lives.

Given the way Sophie talks about monogamy, and that podcast she did recently - they had to have had an open relationship? Sophie has no right to insinuate cheating literally a week after slamming monogamy on that podcast. Maybe Sophie realised she had lost control of the situation. She's ok with non-monogamy when she is in control. Maybe different countries make the control too hard.

Maybe Maddie was enjoying being on her own and being able to play/train freely, without parenting responsibilities. Sophie realised she was losing her, and Maddie quite obviously prioritised training over Sophie (and Sophie having travelled all that way will have thrown a tantrum). Sophie probably thought if she flew home Maddie would beg forgiveness and she hasn't....

I know we have people commenting they are friends of friends who say Maddie cheated - but whose friends? Because if its friends from Sophie's side then SC still controlling the narrative.

Sophie's behaviour at the moment SCREAMS she has been dumped and she is desperately trying to show how FINE she is and what Maddie is missing out on.

This actually makes sense. Maddie cheated on Sophie by committing to her sporting career. Sophie finally saw Maddie take control and didn't like it.

The coach had more pull than Sophie.
