Is PM's envoy for the regions and nations an actual position? Sounds like a made-up job to me to just keep someone on the

The alleged gossip is she was
Sue Gray has quit. Kier can’t seem to keep his close female advisers in post can he? Before he had Sue, he had Jenny Chapman. Kier really liked Jenny Chapman. But Angela Rayner and other senior Labour people didn’t. So Kier moved Jenny Chapman to the Lords. And she is now Baroness Jenny Chapman. I wonder if Kier will advocate a similar arrangement for Sue Gray as he did for Baroness Jenny Chapman. And I wonder who his next close adviser will be.
Yes, he really really liked Jenny Chapman 🥱

If Kier resigns, does Ange automatically become PM or do they elect a new one?

No they will elect a new party leader which takes 2-3 months, similar to the Conservatives process but with more union say. There's no say by the general public, only party members and some union votes.

The party leader once elected becomes Prime Minister, however I can't remember if that is automatic or if they technically go to King Charles and ask for his approval to form a new government.

The way they would most likely do it is Two Tier Free Gear will announce that he is resigning as party leader but with effect 2-3 months afterwards, thus giving time for the leadership election process, that is how it was done for Tony Blair giving way to Gordon Brown, and nobody really contested that particular leadership election so it was able to be done quite rapidly in about 6 weeks, cutting out most of the initial nomination steps. Gordon Brown was the only one that got enough nominations.

Angie would almost certainly put herself forward for the leadership election, for that reason I would expect that she would resign as deputy PM on the same day as Sir Keir so as to be fully devoted to getting elected as leader. As said above Sir Keir would likely still be in charge during the leadership election process so they would need to appoint someone else as his temporary/caretaker deputy PM to replace Angie.

Certainly no guarantees that the current deputy PM becomes permanent PM, Gordon Brown was Chancellor before he took over as PM. I would expect that Thieves and Streeting would definitely challenge Rayner for it, maybe Cooper but who knows, maybe some old guard like John McDonnell could come forward again? He's still lurking in the background.

If the name being mentioned re the alleged other person is correct, there could be a Jeffrey Archer-style perjury situation on the cards, too. 🍿🍿🍿

Ah now there is no way Kier would stand down. No way. We’ve had how many prime ministers since 2016?! Feels like a dozen. That would precipitate a highly amusing situation into a proper political crisis and Kier won the election on an explicit promise to bring an end to Tory chaos and misrule. Mind you he did also explicitly run on an “honesty and integrity” ticket. So…

The Left seems to sense blood in the water, I see Diane Abbott went on the attack last night.

Mind you Diane does so much damage to her own side these days I’m half convinced she’s a Tory plant. I’m almost 💯 certain Owen “I despise women except when I need the wombs of broody lesbians” Jones is one. He and Novara Media pretty much won the 2019 GE for the Cons; I hope they got some free designer gier out of it 🤣🤣🤣

Anyway Diane’s on a hiding to nothing I’m afraid, the first thing Kier and his, er, tRuStEd female advisers did when he got the leadership was to totally cripple the Left by forcing and breaking the NEC into his own personal plaything. And speaking of personal playthings, it was his trusted advisers who helped him do it.

So much for democracy on the Left eh. Sorry Lefties, you’ve been well n truly screwed. Well, not as thoroughly screwed as some other individuals I could mention…🤣🤣🤣
